The Breitling Superocean Heritage ’57 Highlands pairs a compact 38 mm steel-and-red-gold case with colorful retro dive-watch styling and two straps. It is a specification-led overview, not a hands-on review: the available information does not establish how it wears, reads, keeps time, or performs in water. Breitling’s US listing for the blue-dial reference U10340161C1A1 showed a price of $6,950 before sales tax on October 7, 2026; its UK listing for a different reference showed £5,550 including VAT on that date.
What makes the Highlands version distinctive?
Highlands is a colorful capsule within the Superocean Heritage ’57 line. Breitling presents its beige, green, mustard and blue dial options as land-and-sea-inspired variations on a design that recalls its 1957 dive watch. The visual signature includes oversized indexes, an arrow-shaped hour hand and a concave ceramic bezel with a color-matched ring. These are design references, not evidence that the modern watch reproduces the original’s performance or construction. The look deliberately balances dive-watch cues with dressier details: a mesh steel bracelet, a gold element in the case, and a textured fabric alternative. Breitling describes the latter as tweed-inspired fabric made from silk and wool. The overall proposition is less a modern technical diver’s tool than a heritage-styled watch intended to move between casual and smarter settings; whether it suits a particular wearer is a matter of taste and fit.
How big is the 38 mm case?
Breitling lists a 38 mm case diameter, 9.35 mm thickness and 18 mm lug width. That is a relatively modest diameter by many contemporary sport-watch standards, but dimensions alone cannot establish how the watch will sit on a wrist: case shape, lug geometry, bracelet adjustment and individual wrist proportions all matter. No verified wear test is available here, so comfort and visual presence should be assessed in person where possible.
The case combines stainless steel and 18k red gold. The crystal is cambered sapphire with glareproofing on both sides, while the screwed caseback and non-screw-locked crown with two gaskets are part of Breitling’s listed construction. The bezel is bidirectional and ratcheted; Breitling describes its surface as concave ceramic.

The listed crown is not screw-locked, and the available information does not include a hands-on water-use assessment.

What comes with the watch?
Breitling describes the package as including a stainless-steel mesh bracelet, a tweed-inspired silk-and-wool fabric strap, and a spring-bar tool. The US product page also says an additional blue strap is available to buy separately. Check the precise reference and seller’s package before purchase, since inclusion details should be confirmed for the specific listing. An 18 mm lug width by itself does not establish compatibility with any particular aftermarket strap.
What does the Highlands cost?
Prices vary by market, reference and tax treatment. On October 7, 2026, Breitling’s US page listed the blue-dial U10340161C1A1 at $6,950, excluding sales tax. Breitling’s UK page listed U10340E31A1A1 at £5,550, including VAT. These are regional examples for different references and are not a like-for-like currency or tax comparison. The case for the price rests on the distinctive vintage-inspired design, mixed steel-and-18k-red-gold construction, ceramic bezel, sapphire crystal, automatic movement and a bracelet-plus-fabric-strap package. The trade-off is that the available specifications do not establish a performance advantage over alternatives, and a 42-hour stated reserve is a practical constraint for someone who regularly rotates watches. Nor is there verified comparative wear, legibility or timekeeping evidence here. Buyers should decide whether the design and materials are worth the premium to them, and compare alternatives using equivalent case dimensions, water-resistance and crown details, movement and reserve, included straps, warranty and tax-inclusive local prices.
