Bulgari introduced the CarbonGold additions in the 2023 Geneva Watch Days context. LVMH describes both watches as crafted in anthracite carbon and highlighted with gold touches. For the Perpetual Calendar, Bulgari specifies carbon for the case, dial and bracelet, plus a polished 18 kt rose-gold crown with a black ceramic insert. The name describes that material contrast; it does not mean the watch is made from solid gold.

What the perpetual calendar does—and what Bulgari claims
A perpetual calendar tracks calendar variations, including leap years, rather than requiring the wearer to correct the date at the end of each month. Bulgari says the 103778 requires no adjustment before 2100. That is the manufacturer’s statement about the mechanism, not an independently tested result. Bulgari describes the complication as “Requiring no adjustment before 2100, in this version the classic perpetual calendar complication takes on a resolutely contemporary look.”
