Bulova lists both 96A297 and 96A298 with a 44 mm case, NR20 movement, double-curved sapphire crystal and stainless-steel bracelet. They are described as five-hand chronographs. The gray 96A298 page specifies 30 m water resistance; Bulova describes the green 96A297 as splash resistant, so the same rating should not be assumed for both based on these listings.

Bulova says the three subdials track chronograph time in 12-hour, 60-minute and 60-second intervals, with the 60-second subdial also serving as the regular seconds hand. Its product descriptions say the dual mode is operated with the pusher at 4 o’clock.

For the 96A297 and 96A298, Bulova describes the quartz technology as operating at 262 kHz—eight times standard quartz frequency—and claims accuracy of five seconds per month. These are manufacturer statements, not independent test results. The available official specifications cited here apply to the two steel models; do not assume the same details for 98A301 without confirming its own listing.

How much did the watches cost at launch, and what about current prices?
Apex Chronos reported 2023 launch retail prices of $1,150 USD for each steel model and $1,195 USD for the two-tone 98A301. Those are historical launch prices, not current quotes. Bulova’s regional pages may show different currencies or prices, and the U.S. 96A297 page showed the watch temporarily out of stock when checked; status can change.
