The Calgari Dimora Panda and Pierre Morlet are essentially the same 40 mm meca-quartz chronograph in two distinct dial designs: a white-and-black panda layout for the Dimora and a glossy green dial with white subdials for the Pierre Morlet. Their case dimensions and reported movement are shared, so the choice comes down chiefly to appearance, collaboration details, and the availability shown by Calgari.
What distinguishes the Dimora Panda and Pierre Morlet?
The central difference is the dial. The Dimora Panda pairs a glossy white dial with black recessed subdials. The Pierre Morlet reverses that contrast with a glossy green dial, white subdials, and rose-tone indexes and hands. Fratello’s June 2024 hands-on report treats the two as variants of essentially the same watch rather than different case or movement options.
The Pierre Morlet design is associated with a collaboration involving champagne maker Pierre Morlet. Calgari’s October 2025 brand article describes the Dimora dial as “off-white enamel”; the 2024 hands-on report describes its appearance but does not identify the dial material. The enamel description is therefore a claim made by Calgari, not a material detail independently established by the hands-on report.
How do the case and movement compare?
Fratello reported the following dimensions for both watches. Calgari’s October 2025 article repeats the case measurements and specifies a 20 mm strap width. These are published specifications, not measurements made for this article.

Fratello describes a brushed and polished stainless-steel case, a slightly protruding flat sapphire crystal, a push-pull crown, and chronograph pushers. The review reports a sweeping chronograph hand, approximately ±20 seconds per month accuracy, and a battery change about every three years. Those movement figures are the review’s reported details, not independent test results.
What the subdials do
According to Fratello, one subdial is a 24-hour indicator linked to the main hands, while the other is a 60-minute chronograph counter. There is no running-seconds hand, a layout detail that may take some getting used to if you expect a continuously moving seconds display.

How do they wear?
The reviewer says the lugs curve down and that the 47 mm lug-to-lug helped the watch wear better than its apparent thickness suggested. That is one reviewer’s experience, not a guarantee of fit for every wrist. The watches were supplied on matching sailcloth straps with soft black leather lining and quick-release spring bars; the reviewer found the straps stiff at first.
If you are looking for an alternative strap, the published 20 mm width is a useful starting point. Check the particular watch’s lug width and attachment before buying, and choose a material and construction that suit your needs; no specific replacement strap has been verified here.

- VK63 MECHA-QUARTZ CHRONOGRAPH: The WD1863 uses a VK63 mecha-quartz movement with a central 1/5-second chronograph hand, 60-minute counter, running small seconds and a 24-hour display. The pushers control start, stop and reset, combining quartz accuracy with crisp mechanical-style chronograph action for practical elapsed-time measurement.
- BUBBLE SAPPHIRE CRYSTAL & ALUMINUM BEZEL: The raised bubble-style sapphire crystal adds depth above the dial, while a high-clear inner AR coating helps reduce reflections. A 316L stainless steel case and bracelet provide a solid everyday build, and the fixed aluminum bezel creates a defined frame around the vintage chronograph display.
- SUPER BGW-9 BLUE LUME: BGW-9 super luminous material is applied to the hands, hour markers and selected dial details. After exposure to light, these elements produce a blue glow that supports quick time reading in darker surroundings. Coverage follows the individual dial design and remains clearly arranged around the three-register chronograph display.
- 100M WATER RESISTANCE: The screw-down crown and screw-down case back support a 100M water-resistance rating for daily wear and suitable surface-water use. Always tighten the crown fully before contact with water, do not operate the chronograph pushers while the watch is wet or submerged, and avoid hot water, steam and diving. Water resistance should be checked periodically as seals age.
- COMPACT 39MM WRIST PROFILE: The WD1863 measures 39mm across the bezel, with a 41mm mid-case, 46mm lug-to-lug length, 12.9mm thickness including the raised crystal and 20mm lug width. These proportions balance the detail of a three-register chronograph with a wearable footprint. The 20mm bracelet remains proportionate to the case, while the raised crystal adds vintage depth to the compact design.
Which design should you choose?
- Choose the Dimora Panda if you prefer the familiar high-contrast white dial and black subdials.
- Choose the Pierre Morlet if the green dial, rose-tone details, and champagne collaboration story appeal more to you.
- For fit and function, the published specifications and Fratello’s movement description do not establish a case-size or movement advantage for either variant.
What do they cost, and are they available?
Calgari’s official collection page, accessed October 7, 2026, lists the Pierre Morlet at €469 and marks the Dimora Panda sold out. The page labels the collection models limited to 100 pieces. That edition size does not indicate how many, if any, remain available.
Earlier prices are historical, not current quotes: Fratello reported €469.95 in its June 2024 hands-on article, while Calgari’s October 2025 article stated $564. These dated prices are not directly comparable without context such as market, currency conversion, and pricing conditions. Check Calgari’s listing for the latest displayed price and stock status.
