Yes, with limits. Bianchet specifies the Rotondo UltraFino Diamond at 10 ATM (100 metres), a rating generally intended for normal swimming and shallow snorkeling. A brief, ordinary shower is also within the activity guidance used for 10 ATM watches, but hot water, steam, soap, forceful jets and operating the crown while wet should be avoided. The rating is not a scuba-diving certification: 100 metres is a pressure-test classification, not a promise that the watch can safely descend to 100 metres. Swim only with the crown fully closed, keep the watch away from high-impact water activities, and have its seals checked after a serious knock or when service is due.
What water-resistance rating does the Rotondo UltraFino Diamond have?
Bianchet’s 2026 product specification lists the Rotondo UltraFino Diamond at 10 ATM. Independent Diamond-edition coverage expresses the same rating as 100 metres. ATM (atmospheres) and bar describe pressure resistance; they do not directly state a safe recreational diving depth.

Ordinary surface swimming is reasonable when the watch is in good condition and the crown is fully closed. Seiko’s official water-resistance table places 10BAR watches in the swimming and yachting category, while Victorinox’s 100 m / 10 ATM guidance includes swimming and snorkeling.

Pool swimming
A calm pool session is the clearest use case for the rating. Before entering, check that the crown is completely pushed in or screwed down as designed; do not adjust the time or wind the watch in or beside the water. Keep movements controlled rather than treating the watch as protection against diving impacts.
Open-water swimming
Surface swimming in a lake or ocean falls into the same general category, but waves, current and accidental impacts add risk. Salt water should be followed by a fresh-water rinse and a careful dry with a soft, non-abrasive cloth. The water-resistance rating does not remove the need to inspect the watch after contact with rocks, ladders, boat hardware or other hard surfaces.

Snorkeling
Official 10 ATM tables generally include shallow snorkeling. Keep that interpretation to surface or modest-depth snorkeling in calm conditions. It should not be read as approval for deep breath-hold dives, rough surf or jumping from a boat or ledge.
Is showering with the watch safe?
A normal, brief shower is generally compatible with a 10 ATM rating, but removing the watch is the safer routine. Heat, steam, cleaning products and changing pressure create conditions that ordinary water-resistance tables do not fully represent.
What makes a shower different from a swim?
Hot water can accelerate ageing of gaskets and other sealing materials. Steam can reach areas that remain dry during a cool swim, while shampoo and soap leave residues that should not be allowed to accumulate around the crown, case joints or strap hardware. Casio’s care guidance specifically warns against baths, hot water and saunas, and advises against operating controls while submerged.

If you keep it on in the shower
- Use cool or lukewarm water rather than very hot water.
- Keep the crown closed and do not operate it or any other control.
- Avoid directing the shower head at the watch, especially at close range.
- Rinse away any soap with clean, fresh water and dry the case and bracelet with a soft cloth.
Do not wear it in a hot tub, sauna or steam room. Those environments combine heat and moisture in ways that are unnecessarily hard on seals, even when the printed rating appears generous.
Does 100 metres mean you can dive to 100 metres?
No. Seiko explains that the bar figure is a test pressure and should not be treated as an equivalent diving depth. Swimming movements can produce greater pressure on a watch than static water at the same nominal depth.
For the Rotondo UltraFino Diamond, 10 ATM supports everyday water exposure such as swimming and shallow snorkeling when the seals and crown are sound. It does not establish suitability for scuba equipment, compressed-air diving, deep freediving or high-impact water sports. A dive watch normally has additional construction and testing expectations; this model’s published 10 ATM figure alone does not provide those assurances.
What should you check before entering water?
A short pre-water inspection prevents the most avoidable failures. The rating applies only when the watch is correctly closed and its seals remain serviceable.
- Close the crown completely. Victorinox’s 100 m guidance specifically says to check that the crown is fully pushed in before water exposure.
- Look for recent damage. A sharp impact can deform a component or compromise a gasket without leaving an obvious mark.
- Consider service history. Water resistance is not permanent. Seiko states that a watch’s water resistance is not permanently guaranteed because seals age and conditions change.
- Choose the activity conservatively. Swimming and shallow snorkeling are different from diving, cliff jumping, jet-ski spray or a powerful hose.
- Do not adjust anything while wet. Keep the crown and controls untouched until the watch is clean and dry.

How should you clean the watch after salt water?
Salt crystals can remain around the case, crown and bracelet links after ocean exposure. Victorinox and Seiko both advise fresh-water rinsing and drying as part of routine care.
- Move away from the sea and confirm the crown is still fully closed.
- Rinse the exterior with clean, fresh water. Do not use a forceful jet.
- Use a soft, dry, non-abrasive cloth to remove moisture, sweat, dirt and residue.
- Pay attention to the spaces between bracelet links and around the clasp, but do not force cloth or tools into the movement.
- Let the watch dry naturally before opening or adjusting the crown.
A microfiber watch-cleaning cloth is suitable for this wipe-down because the care guidance calls for a soft dry cloth. Avoid abrasive polishing materials and household cleaners that could mark titanium, gold or the watch’s finishes.
When should the water resistance be tested?
Arrange a water-resistance check after a significant impact, after the case has been opened, or when there is any reason to suspect damage. A service professional should also inspect the watch if condensation or moisture appears beneath the crystal; continued exposure could turn a sealing problem into movement corrosion.
Victorinox recommends testing water resistance every 18 months. Bianchet’s product page does not publish a model-specific testing interval, so the 18-month figure should be treated as a general watch-care reference rather than a Bianchet warranty condition. An authorized Bianchet retailer or qualified Swiss-watch service center can confirm the appropriate test and seal-replacement schedule for the individual watch.

What happens if the crown was open or the watch gets wet inside?
Do not press, wind or set the watch while it is wet. Keep the crown in its normal closed position, wipe the exterior gently and arrange professional inspection as soon as possible. Do not rely on household heat, a hair dryer or a sealed bag of rice; rapid or uneven heating can worsen condensation and does not restore a compromised gasket.
If the watch has been submerged with an open crown, struck during water activity, or exposed to unusually hot water, treat the incident as a potential seal failure even if the watch continues to run. A functioning movement does not prove that moisture has not entered the case.

The Diamond edition combines a lightweight Grade 5 titanium case with a white-gold, diamond-set bezel and a highly finished flying-tourbillon movement. Those materials and the CHF 92,500 excluding-tax price listed by Bianchet make avoidable exposure especially difficult to justify, even though the 10 ATM rating permits ordinary swimming under the right conditions.

The rating protects against defined water pressure when the watch is correctly closed and maintained; it does not protect the diamonds, case finishes or movement from knocks, chemicals, heat or careless handling. Using the supplied rubber strap for water activities may be practical, but changing straps does not increase the case’s water-resistance rating.
What is the safest everyday rule?
Use the Rotondo UltraFino Diamond in water only for calm, ordinary activities covered by 10 ATM guidance: a controlled swim, surface snorkeling or, if necessary, a short lukewarm shower. Keep the crown closed, avoid heat and force, rinse after salt water, dry with a soft cloth and stop water use after any serious impact until the seals have been checked. That approach matches the published 10 ATM classification without confusing it with a 100-metre diving guarantee.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can I wear the Rotondo UltraFino Diamond in the rain?
The published 10 ATM activity tables do not create a separate rain category. Treat heavy rain, wind-driven spray and accidental splashes as ordinary water exposure: keep the crown closed, avoid operating it while wet, and dry the watch afterward.
Does the 60-hour power reserve change the watch’s water resistance?
No. The 60-hour figure describes how long the automatic UR01 movement can run when fully wound; it has no bearing on gaskets, crown seals or the 10 ATM pressure classification.
Are the diamonds given a different water-resistance rating?
No separate diamond-specific rating is published. The relevant protection is the watch’s case rating and seal condition, so the presence of 40 baguette diamonds does not make hot water, chemicals or impact exposure acceptable.
Can changing from the titanium bracelet to the rubber strap make the watch safer in water?
Changing straps can alter comfort and drying convenience, but it does not raise the case’s 10 ATM rating. The crown, gaskets and case remain the parts that determine water resistance.
What does condensation under the crystal indicate?
Visible condensation should be treated as a possible sealing or moisture-ingress problem, not as normal behaviour for a 10 ATM watch. Keep the watch out of water and have a qualified service professional inspect it promptly.
