Its defining look comes paired with tide and moon information, sunrise and sunset times, and training features.
What makes the GBX-100S look different?
Casio describes the bezel as a two-part design: stainless-steel components on top, with mirror-finished beveled edges, and clear translucent resin with a glossy sheen at the base. The case and bezel are specified as resin and stainless steel; the watch is not an all-metal construction. Casio’s GBX-100S-1 product page and US GBX100S product-family page describe the materials.
“Transparent body” is therefore shorthand for the translucent resin element. Casio does not describe the entire case as transparent. The band is bio-based resin, with Casio identifying key resin components in it as bio-based.
Surf and activity features
The GBX-100S is part of Casio’s G-LIDE surf line. Its memory-in-pixel (MIP) LCD presents graphical and numeric information, including tide and moon data, sunrise and sunset times, and training measurements.

Tide, moon, and daylight information
The watch displays a tide graph and moon age or phase, along with sunrise and sunset times. Through Bluetooth Smartphone Link and the CASIO WATCHES app, users can set tide information for about 3,300 global surf points, according to Casio’s US product-family page. Casio cautions that the tide graphs are reference information calculated from past data, and actual conditions may vary. They should not replace current local marine or surf-condition information.
Training and everyday functions
Training displays can include distance, speed, pace, lap data, and estimated calories. The listed activity features also include step tracking and life-log data. Other functions include a stopwatch, interval countdown timer, four daily alarms, vibration, and an auto LED backlight.

What the app adds
Casio lists time adjustment, watch settings, world time, notifications, activity and life logs, smartphone GPS distance correction, tide-graph settings, and a phone finder among the app-linked functions. Bluetooth connection and the CASIO WATCHES app are required for Smartphone Link features.

These dimensions, weight, water-resistance rating, and battery-life estimate are the specifications Casio lists on its GBX-100S-1 page. The battery figure is an approximate manufacturer estimate, not an independent real-world test. The 200-meter rating is Casio’s stated specification; it is not a guarantee for every aquatic activity or condition.

GBX-100S-1 vs. GBX-100S-2
Casio’s US lineup lists two color/model variants, GBX100S-1 and GBX100S-2. The official product-family information establishes the pair but does not identify variant-specific functional differences, so the supported distinction here is styling rather than features. A US lineup listing does not establish current stock or availability in other regions.
