The Casio G-Shock MT-G MTG-S1000 is a premium analog G-Shock built around a metal-and-resin Core Guard structure. Its “$1,000” label is historical: G-Central reported that price in 2015 for two black-finish variants, while a silver variant was listed at $900. Those figures are not current market prices.
What is the MTG-S1000?
Casio places the MTG-S1000 in the MT-G line, which combines metal construction with G-SHOCK shock protection. The brand’s official history lists the model under 2013 and identifies its newly developed Core Guard structure as a notable development in the series. Casio’s G-SHOCK history
The model family uses module 5369. Casio’s operation guide describes a metal-and-resin construction built around a hollow Core Guard structure, with Triple G Resist intended to address shock, centrifugal force and vibration. The guide also identifies metal anti-vibration washers and a layered composite band. Casio module 5369 guide
What does the watch offer?
Timekeeping and power
The module guide identifies Tough Solar charging and Multiband 6 radio time calibration, along with Wave Ceptor and Tough Movement features. It also describes simultaneous display of the time in two countries, making the dual-time function part of the watch’s stated feature set rather than an inference from its analog layout. Display and protection
The MTG-S1000 is an analog watch with a coated sapphire crystal; Casio specifies a non-reflective coating in the guide. That specification describes the crystal treatment, not a guarantee that reflections disappear in every lighting condition.
Reported dimensions and functions
G-Central reported dimensions of 58.6 × 53.5 × 15.5 mm and a weight of 188 g for the MTG-S1000 family. The same 2015 account lists a stainless-steel case, 200 m water resistance, Smart Access electronic crown, chronograph, countdown timer and alarm. These are secondary-source family-level specifications; check the official specification sheet for the exact suffix before relying on them for a particular variant. G-Central’s 2015 MTG-S1000 report

The model’s defining case for consideration is its combination of metal-and-resin construction, Core Guard architecture and G-SHOCK protection features, paired with solar charging, radio calibration and dual-country time display. Whether that package justifies a particular asking price depends on the exact suffix, condition and current offer; the historical $1,000 figure alone cannot answer that question.
