Casio America announced the full-metal G-Shock GMCB2100 chronograph series in the United States on October 10, 2024—not as a newly documented 2026 release. The launch named two models, GMCB2100D-1A and GMCB2100AD-2A. Casio’s current U.S. family page lists the silver GMCB2100D-1A.
When did the GMCB2100 launch in the US?
Casio America’s announcement is dated October 10, 2024. It introduced the GMCB2100 as the first three-hand analog chronograph in G-SHOCK’s Full Metal line and identified the GMCB2100D-1A and GMCB2100AD-2A as launch models. The official U.S. material cited here does not establish a separate 2026 launch.

What are the GMCB2100D-1A and GMCB2100AD-2A?
They are the two model references named in Casio America’s 2024 U.S. launch announcement. The cited official pages do not provide enough detail to make a reliable feature-by-feature comparison with GMCB2100AD-2A.

Casio uses two naming forms for the silver model across its U.S. pages: the announcement and family page call it GMCB2100D-1A, while the model-specific specification page labels it GMC-B2100D-1A. These are Casio’s variants for the same U.S. product reference; use the form shown on the relevant page.

What functions and phone features does it offer?
Casio’s U.S. family page lists dual time, a stopwatch, countdown timer, alarm, LED light, and date/day display alongside solar power, Smartphone Link, shock resistance, and 200-meter water resistance.
With the CASIO WATCHES app, Casio describes automatic time adjustment, watch-setting support, world time for about 300 cities, time-and-place logging, and phone finding. These are the app features Casio attributes to the connected watch; the page does not mean every function operates without a paired phone.

The listed 51.3 mm length and 171 g weight give useful context for fit: this is a substantial stainless-steel watch, not a lightweight resin 2100. Check case dimensions and weight against a watch you already find comfortable, and consider whether you want a metal bracelet and chronograph-style multi-hand display. Solar charging, Bluetooth time adjustment, and 200-meter water resistance are also among Casio’s stated specifications.
