The appeal is horological styling and elaborate exterior work around an Apple phone. Buyers should distinguish that from Caviar’s separate projects that advertise actual watches integrated into a phone, and confirm exactly what a regional Corona quote includes before ordering.
What Caviar announced in May 2025
The launch coverage described Corona as a limited-quantity customization for the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max. It reported a starting price of $8,200, compared with the $999 launch price it cited for the standard iPhone 16 Pro. The $999 figure is the Apple launch price used in that May 2025 report, not a statement of current retail pricing.
The four names and watch references below come from that launch report. They are described as visual inspirations, not official collaborations with Patek Philippe, Audemars Piguet or Rolex. The report does not establish a unit count for each of the four models.

Why Caviar’s Corona lineup can look different now
Caviar’s currently accessible Corona-related pages show other iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max designs, including Evergreen, Twilight and Atlantis. A separate Caviar announcement discusses those designs alongside a crown-themed model. These materials do not present one perfectly consistent lineup with the four names in the May 2025 report, so a catalog listing should not be treated as proof that every launch model remains available.

What the materials do—and do not—mean
The May 2025 coverage describes the four launch designs as using PVD-coated titanium chassis, rear panels described as jewelry-grade 24-karat gold, hand engraving and redesigned camera-module treatment. That is a description of decorative construction over an iPhone, not evidence that the phone is made entirely from solid gold. Gold plating, a gold panel and a solid-gold body are materially different claims.

Caviar’s Evergreen and Twilight pages give more specific examples: gold plating, titanium treatments and crocodile leather. Those material descriptions belong to those listed models; they are not a specification sheet for all four launch designs. Leather and plated finishes also bring different care considerations from an unmodified phone, particularly around moisture, abrasion and surface wear.
It remains an iPhone, not a new Apple platform
The Corona proposition is exterior customization around an iPhone 16 Pro or Pro Max. The launch coverage does not describe a new processor, camera system, iOS capability or integrated mechanical movement for Nightwing, Tapisserie, Hexagon or Sky Filigree. The watch references are visual.

That distinction matters because Caviar has separate products that do advertise physical watch integration. Its No Time To Die Edition page advertises an Omega Seamaster Diver 300M 007 Edition integrated into an iPhone body. Its Master of Time collection describes removable Patek Philippe or IWC watches secured using a “Watch Vault” mechanism. Those are different projects, not features of the four Corona models in the May 2025 report.

There are multiple price signals, and they refer to different materials and product announcements. The $8,200 starting price was reported for the four-model May 2025 launch. In a separate Corona-related announcement, Caviar states a $9,770 starting price and says its solid-gold crown-themed model can reach $300,000. The latter ceiling is not a price for Nightwing, Tapisserie, Hexagon or Sky Filigree.

Some current Caviar listings use an inquiry or custom-order process rather than showing a fixed checkout price. Caviar also says a customer can order a design without purchasing the device through the Twilight page, making it especially important to establish whether a quote covers the Apple handset or only customization. Storage, Pro versus Pro Max, customization, shipping, insurance, taxes and import duties can affect the delivered cost. Treat the launch figure as a dated report, not a present-day guaranteed quote.
Questions to settle before placing an order
A costly bespoke phone needs more than a materials list. Get the answers in writing from the regional seller handling the order.
- What exactly is included? Confirm whether the price includes an Apple handset, which storage capacity and size, and whether the work is a case, a replacement exterior or another form of modification.
- Is the specific design orderable? Ask whether it is in stock, made to order or no longer available, and request the unit limit for that exact model rather than relying on a number shown for another Corona design.
- What is the final delivered price? Request a breakdown of customization, shipping, insurance, taxes and duties for your country. Caviar says international delivery cost and timing depend on destination and shipment details; its Evergreen page says dispatch may take 1–5 business days and international delivery can take at least a week depending on country.
- What does the warranty cover? Caviar’s Evergreen page states a one-year warranty for iPhone, Samsung and Apple Watch products, while the Twilight page includes a 30-day iPhone-case warranty reference. The wording differs across those pages and product categories. Confirm which terms apply to the exact order, whether coverage includes Caviar’s modifications and the underlying Apple device, and who handles Apple repairs.
- What happens if the phone needs service? Ask how the custom exterior affects Apple servicing, replacement parts and repair logistics. Do not assume that Apple’s standard warranty covers Caviar’s work or that the customized housing can be serviced like an unmodified device.
- What accessories remain usable? Caviar lists MagSafe compatibility for Evergreen and Twilight. Confirm performance with the particular charger, wallet, mount or case you plan to use; the listing does not establish identical compatibility for every accessory or every Corona model.
- What does the certificate establish? Caviar says it supplies an international certificate of authenticity with five protection levels. That concerns Caviar product provenance; it is not evidence of approval or a partnership by the named watchmakers.
Who is likely to value a Corona phone?
Corona makes the most sense as a collectible design object for someone who wants a conspicuous, watch-referencing iPhone and is comfortable with bespoke ordering. Its premium pays for the exterior treatment, materials, labor and scarcity claims—not a faster phone or better camera. A standard iPhone is the more practical choice for buyers prioritizing conventional service, accessories and resale. A removable luxury case is a lower-commitment route to visual customization, although it does not create the same integrated artifact.
For a reader drawn primarily to horology, a genuine mechanical watch paired with an ordinary phone keeps the watch as a dedicated instrument with its own provenance and service path. Corona is for the person who wants the watch language on the phone itself, not a substitute for the engineering or ownership experience of a Patek Philippe, Audemars Piguet or Rolex.
