The Chopard Mille Miglia Classic Chronograph JX7 for Jacky Ickx in Lucent Steel is reference 168619-4002: a 41 mm, blue-dial chronograph combining stainless steel with 18K ethical yellow gold. Chopard limits this version to 50 pieces worldwide and lists it as a boutique exclusive. Its COSC-certified automatic movement, 54-hour power reserve and motorsport details make it a technically specified tribute watch; the official specifications do not establish how it performs or wears in independent testing.
Which JX7 is this?
The title’s “Lucent Steel” wording can obscure an important distinction. Chopard’s US product page identifies ref. 168619-4002 as combining ethical yellow gold and Lucent Steel, and specifies the case materials as 18K yellow gold and stainless steel. It is not the all-steel JX7.
Chopard also lists a separate all-steel Jacky Ickx edition, ref. 168619-3006. The references differ in material and edition size; their specifications should not be treated as interchangeable.

Case, dial and everyday specifications
For ref. 168619-4002, Chopard lists a 41 mm case with a thickness of 12.88 mm, a lacquered blue dial with a circular satin-brushed finish, luminous Arabic numerals and sapphire crystal on the front. A see-through sapphire caseback shows the movement. Water resistance is rated to 50 metres.
The two-tone treatment gives the watch a more formal accent than an all-steel racing chronograph, while the blue dial and rubber strap keep the design tied to the Mille Miglia’s motorsport identity. That is a design reading, not a claim about comfort or suitability for a particular wrist; no independent wear assessment is established here.

Movement and chronograph functions
The watch uses a self-winding mechanical chronograph movement certified by COSC. Chopard specifies a 54-hour power reserve and a frequency of 4 Hz. Its listed functions are:
- Chronograph seconds hand
- 30-minute and 12-hour chronograph counters
- Small seconds
- Date
- Stop-seconds function
COSC certification is a stated movement credential, not an independent review of this particular watch’s long-term performance. The available official specifications do not supply hands-on timing results or an assessment of real-world accuracy.

Jacky Ickx and the Mille Miglia connection
Chopard presents the JX7 as a tribute to Jacky Ickx, the champion race-car driver and long-serving Maison ambassador, and to the brand’s relationship with the 1000 Miglia. The company says Ickx has shared the race’s passion and emotion with Chopard for more than 35 years. Its French product page calls this their seventh collaboration and says the design draws inspiration from Ickx’s iconic helmet.
Those are Chopard’s descriptions of the collaboration and design, rather than statements attributed to Ickx. The blue rubber strap carries a Dunlop tire-pattern motif, another explicit link to racing. The crown is screw-down and made of 18K ethical yellow gold; the strap closes with a stainless-steel pin buckle.

What the official specifications do—and do not—tell you
The listed dimensions, materials, movement functions, water-resistance rating and edition size make the reference easy to identify and compare. They do not establish independent timing accuracy, on-wrist comfort, durability in use or current availability. Buyers considering it should confirm the exact reference on the watch and sales paperwork, especially because the all-steel 168619-3006 is a separate, larger edition.
