Citizen Iconic Nature is a limited-edition watch series within The CITIZEN, distinguished by nature-inspired dials made with Japanese Tosa washi paper. Four references were announced for The CITIZEN’s 30th anniversary: AQ4106-00A, AQ4100-22L, AQ4103-16W and AQ4100-22A. Each was limited to 400 watches worldwide, and the main differences are the dial treatment and titanium case finish.
What is the Citizen Iconic Nature collection?
Iconic Nature is part of The CITIZEN, not a separate watch brand. Citizen describes the collection as capturing fleeting moments of natural beauty on a watch dial. The anniversary designs use Tosa washi paper, with different colors and treatments across references. Citizen says the designs draw on the Japanese aesthetic sensibility expressed by “をかし” and the way colors bleed and fade in washi; that is the manufacturer’s framing of the collection, not a universal definition of the term. The four 30th-anniversary models below are not the entire history of Iconic Nature. Citizen’s global line-up also lists earlier references including AQ4100-65H, AQ4106-18X, AQ4100-22W and AQ4106-00W. Earlier Iconic Nature references

Which Iconic Nature reference should you consider?
The clearest way to choose among the four is by the dial and case finish, since Citizen’s listed shared specifications are similar. The AQ4106-00A pairs its Unryushi washi dial with a Sakura Pink finish; the AQ4100-22L is the explicitly indigo-dyed Tengujo option. The later-announced AQ4103-16W has an Amber Yellow finish, while AQ4100-22A uses Platinum. The sources describe the materials and finishes but do not establish which dial is more legible, durable or preferable.
All four were announced as 400-piece worldwide editions. Their release announcements document planned or stated release details, not whether a particular reference is currently in stock in a given country or retailer. Check Citizen or an authorized retailer for present availability and local pricing.
