Citizen’s Promaster Aqualand 40th Anniversary Limited Edition is reference JP2008-06E, a 2025 release limited to 5,800 pieces worldwide. It retains the Aqualand’s distinctive external depth sensor and analog-digital layout, adding gray and gold-tone anniversary details. Citizen announced a July 10, 2025 release; its launch list price was ¥82,500 including tax in Japan, while Citizen Europe listed €479 recommended retail.
What is the Aqualand 40th Anniversary Limited Edition?
JP2008-06E marks 40 years since the Aqualand debuted in 1985. Citizen describes that original as “the world’s first diver’s watch with an electronic depth gauge.” That priority claim is Citizen’s own; it is not independently established by the sources cited here. The anniversary model is a limited worldwide run of 5,800 pieces.
The design keeps the recognizable Aqualand arrangement: a crown at 4 o’clock, three push buttons, and a prominent depth sensor at 9 o’clock. For the anniversary edition, Citizen pairs a gray, matte-finished stainless-steel case with gold-tone accents.
What does it measure, and what else does it do?
The hybrid analog-digital watch measures water depth and dive time, and provides an ascent-speed warning when a diver exceeds a threshold. Citizen also lists a calendar, alarm, and chronograph. The depth gauge and warning are watch functions, not substitutes for dive training or appropriate dive instruments.
