What is the Minase × Fratello M-3 Shiro?
Minase announced the Shiro on September 18, 2024, as the third entry in its M-3 exploration with watch publication Fratello. Minase described the M-3 as previously available only in Japan and presented the collaboration as a way to bring its Japanese watchmaking to a wider audience. Minase is the watchmaker; Fratello is the collaboration partner. Minase’s launch announcement describes the edition and its specifications.
What distinguishes the Shiro’s design?
White lacquer-finished dial
“Shiro” means white. Minase describes the dial as an embossed white surface finished with traditional Japanese lacquer, with a silvery appearance that changes with the light. This is the focal point of the design: rather than a plain white field, the surface treatment gives the dial texture and a shifting sheen.
Red and blue accents
The central seconds hand has a red tip, while the strap is denim blue. Minase framed the colors as complementary: it associated white with Japanese ritual and purity, the seconds-hand tip with the red of Japan’s flag (Hinomaru, “circle of the sun”), and the strap with Japanese denim. These are the brand’s explanations of its design choices, not an exhaustive account of Japanese symbolism.

The 10 ATM rating is Minase’s published specification; it should not be read as a guarantee of suitability for every water activity.
How the Shiro differs from the standard M3
The collaboration should not be confused with the standard MASTER CRAFT M3. Minase’s standard M3 product page lists 39 × 36 × 10.5 mm dimensions and a KT7001 automatic movement based on ETA 2824 / Sellita SW200. The Shiro announcement separately gives a 39 × 46 × 10.5 mm case and a date-removed Sellita SW200-1. The differing published dimensions and movement descriptions mean the standard M3’s specification should not be substituted for the Shiro’s.

The Shiro’s 20 mm lug width is useful when considering straps, but it does not confirm compatibility with a particular aftermarket strap, buckle or bracelet. A 2024 Kyowa Seiko release about the standard M3 describes multiple strap and bracelet choices and tool-free changes for that collection; it does not establish that those accessories fit this collaboration. Confirm fit with Minase or the seller before buying.
How much did the Shiro cost, and when was it offered?
Minase announced a launch price of €2,470 excluding VAT, with taxes adjusted at checkout. The preorder opened at 16:00 CEST on September 17, 2024, and closed at 16:00 CEST on September 24, 2024. Those are historical launch terms, not a current price or availability offer. Minase’s announcement also described its production as fewer than 500 pieces annually; that figure refers to the company generally, not the number of Shiro watches made.

Can you still buy the Minase Shiro?
Minase’s official news listing includes a notice dated August 15, 2026, titled “MASTER CRAFT M3 新規受注終了のご案内” (notice of the end of new M3 orders). This records the end of new orders for the broader M3 line; it does not say whether Shiro examples remain in retailer stock or are available on the secondary market. The announcement does not establish current resale prices or inventory. Check directly with Minase or a seller for availability, and verify a pre-owned watch’s authenticity and condition before purchasing.
