The Citizen Promaster Navihawk Blue Angels most clearly identified in Citizen’s current product information is reference CA4667-53L: a 40 mm analog chronograph with a blue dial, light-powered B620 movement, sapphire crystal and a manufacturer-rated 200 m water resistance. The title alone does not establish that reference as the watch in a particular hands-on sample, so confirm the number on the watch or its documentation before applying these specifications. This is a specification-led guide, not a report of personal wear testing.
What is the Citizen Promaster Navihawk Blue Angels?
Citizen Canada describes the CA4667-53L as a stainless-steel-bracelet chronograph in the Promaster Navihawk line. Its Blue Angels identity is conveyed through the blue dial and bezel accents, aviation-oriented slide-rule scale and Blue Angels insignia on the caseback. Citizen says the U.S. Navy Blue Angels squadron was formed in 1946. The squadron reference is historical context for the branding, not a performance feature of the watch.
Citizen frames the design in cockpit terms: “The dial is inspired by cockpit instrumentation, while the bold stainless steel case line is reminiscent of a fuselage.” The visual cues are prominent, but the listed functions are those of a conventional analog chronograph rather than the more extensive digital aviation instrument found in some other Blue Angels models.
What are the specifications of the Citizen CA4667-53L?
| Specification | Citizen-listed detail |
|---|---|
| Case | 40 mm, silver-tone stainless steel |
| Bracelet and clasp | Stainless-steel triple-link bracelet; fold-over clasp with hidden push button |
| Listed weight | 156 g |
| Dial | Blue |
| Movement | B620 Eco-Drive, powered by light; Citizen says the system eliminates the need to replace watch batteries |
| Chronograph | 1/5-second measurement, up to 60 minutes |
| Other listed functions | 12/24-hour time display and date |
| Crystal | Anti-reflective sapphire |
| Water resistance | WR200 / 20 bar / 660 ft; Citizen labels it suitable for swimming and marine sports |
| Bezel and caseback | Blue ion-plated bidirectional bezel with slide-rule scale; Blue Angels insignia on the caseback |
These are manufacturer specifications, not independent test results. In particular, Citizen’s 200 m rating should not be read as a separately verified test of this particular watch. The company describes the bezel’s slide-rule scale as providing “additional flight utility.” That is a specialized analog calculation aid, rather than an automatic timekeeping or navigation system.

What does the Navihawk offer in daily use?
Light-powered analog chronograph
The B620 movement is the functional center of the CA4667-53L. Citizen lists a 1/5-second chronograph with a 60-minute maximum, plus a date and 12/24-hour time display. That feature set suits someone who wants a recognizable aviation-style analog watch with straightforward timing functions. It does not include the long-duration chronograph, alarm, countdown timer or atomic timekeeping specified for the separate Skyhawk A-T reference described below.
Slide-rule bezel
The bidirectional bezel’s scale is intended for flight-related calculations. Using a slide rule requires learning how to align and read the markings; it is not a push-button shortcut or a substitute for dedicated flight instruments. The scale also contributes to the watch’s instrument-panel appearance.

Case, bracelet and crystal
The 40 mm case, steel bracelet and 156 g listed weight provide a useful baseline for judging size and heft, but those numbers alone cannot establish comfort or fit on a particular wrist. Citizen specifies an anti-reflective sapphire crystal, a material detail worth distinguishing from a claim about real-world scratch performance: no independent durability testing is established here.
What is the difference between the Navihawk and Skyhawk Blue Angels?
“Blue Angels” is used across more than one Citizen Promaster design. The Navihawk CA4667-53L and Skyhawk A-T JY8078-01L are different watches, with distinct movements and displays. Citizen also identifies JY8078-52L as the steel-bracelet Skyhawk variant.

Choose by the watch itself, not by the shared Blue Angels name: the CA4667-53L is the more restrained analog chronograph, while the JY8078 Skyhawk A-T is larger and substantially more feature-dense, with a digital display and atomic timekeeping. Citizen’s Navihawk design archive describes earlier family features such as world time and an analog/LCD display, but its example is the PMG65-8991 with C300 calibre; those historical features should not be assumed to apply to the CA4667-53L.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. Is the Citizen Promaster Navihawk Blue Angels worth it?
The CA4667-53L is a plausible choice for someone who values the Blue Angels design, a steel-bracelet build, sapphire crystal and a light-powered analog chronograph with a 200 m manufacturer rating. Its functional brief is narrower than the Skyhawk A-T’s. The slide rule is most compelling for a wearer who wants to learn and use an analog scale, rather than for someone seeking automated aviation calculations or a broad set of digital tools.

Before buying, verify the reference number and compare the fit in person if possible. The specifications establish dimensions, listed weight and functions; they do not establish bracelet comfort, dial legibility under particular lighting, ease of bezel operation, charging behavior in a specific routine or timekeeping accuracy. Availability and price depend on market and date and are not established here.
