How the Navihawk models differ
Start with the exact reference, not just the Navihawk name. The five examples below use four movement families. Four are described as radio-controlled; the CC9030-51E uses GPS satellite timekeeping. Their listed case widths range from 41 mm to 48 mm.

Radio-controlled A-T or GPS?
Radio-controlled models
The CB5840-59E, AT8300-58L, JY8033-51E, and AT8227-56X are described as radio-controlled atomic timekeeping watches. The listed functions vary by model: for example, the CB5840-59E covers 24 time zones, while the AT8300-58L and AT8227-56X list 26 time zones. A larger city or time-zone count does not by itself establish better timekeeping or a better fit for every buyer.

GPS model
The CC9030-51E is the cited GPS option. Citizen lists timekeeping across 27 cities and 40 time zones, alongside dual time and a chronograph that measures to 1/20 second for up to 24 hours. Choose it if the GPS method and those specific functions are the priority; the catalog descriptions do not establish comparative accuracy or reception performance.
How large is a Citizen Navihawk?
There is no family-wide case size. Citizen lists case widths of 41 mm for AT8300-58L, 46 mm for CB5840-59E, 47 mm for CC9030-51E, and 48 mm for AT8227-56X. These are manufacturer case-width specifications, not guarantees of how a watch will wear on a particular wrist. Lug width is separately listed as 22 mm for CB5840-59E and AT8227-56X; do not assume that dimension applies to other references.
Try the exact model on if possible. The cited product specifications do not establish comfort, weight perception, or dial legibility in real use.

What do the chronograph and extra functions offer?
The chronograph specifications are not interchangeable. Citizen lists a 1-second chronograph measuring up to 60 minutes on CB5840-59E; a 1/20-second chronograph up to 60 minutes on AT8300-58L; and a 1/20-second chronograph up to 24 hours on CC9030-51E. JY8033-51E lists a 1/100-second chronograph, two alarms, a 99-minute countdown, and UTC display. These are manufacturer specifications; compare the functions you will actually use rather than treating a higher resolution as a general quality ranking.

Citizen lists sapphire crystal for CB5840-59E, AT8300-58L, CC9030-51E, and AT8227-56X. A separate cited JY8034-58E page specifies anti-reflective mineral crystal, illustrating why crystal material should be checked against the exact reference rather than inferred from the family name.
For the cited examples rated WR200/20 bar, Citizen describes the rating as suitable for swimming, showering, and snorkeling. The CB5840-59E, CC9030-51E, and AT8227-56X pages list that rating. Do not extend it to a reference whose page does not state it. On a used watch, the original rating does not establish the condition of its seals now.

Does a Navihawk need a battery?
These examples are Eco-Drive models, which Citizen describes as powered by light. For the CB5840-59E, Citizen’s product description says: “Powered by any light source, continuously and sustainably, eliminating the need to replace watch batteries.” That is the manufacturer’s wording, not an independent performance finding. The cited product pages do not establish charging time, reserve duration, or the real-world condition of a particular watch.
Which Navihawk should you consider?
- For the smallest listed case in this comparison: AT8300-58L at 41 mm, with H800 radio-controlled timekeeping, 26 time zones, and a 1/20-second chronograph to 60 minutes.
- For GPS timekeeping: CC9030-51E, with 27-city/40-time-zone coverage, dual time, and a chronograph to 24 hours.
- For a feature-dense digital-style display: JY8033-51E lists 43-city world time, two alarms, a countdown timer, and UTC display.
- For a 24-zone radio-controlled option: CB5840-59E pairs that coverage with sapphire crystal, a perpetual calendar, alarm, and WR200/20 bar rating.

These are feature matches, not an overall ranking. Verify fit and readability in person where possible, then confirm the precise reference, seller, warranty, and current availability. The listed discontinued and out-of-stock statuses were observed on Citizen US pages and may change.
