What is the Credor Locomotive GCCR997?
GCCR997 is a Credor Locomotive model. Seiko Watch Corporation announced it on February 5, 2025, as a new green-dial version of the Locomotive, a design associated with Gérald Genta. Credor includes the reference in its model lineup.
The design’s defining feature is its hexagonal case and bezel. On GCCR997, Seiko pairs those shapes with a patterned green dial, and describes the case and bezel as combining brushed and mirror finishes.
Why is the GCCR997 dial green?
Seiko says the dial’s color is inspired by the green signal light used in train systems. The company links that image to the Locomotive “advancing the Credor brand.” Its hexagonal dial pattern, meanwhile, refers to the watch’s signature hexagonal case and bezel. The color and pattern therefore connect the new version to both the railway theme and the Locomotive’s recognizable geometry.

The English-language announcement provides the movement, dimensions, materials and resistance figures. The stated accuracy range appears in the Japanese GCCR997 announcement; it is a manufacturer specification, not an independent real-world accuracy result. The published figures alone do not establish how a particular watch will perform on the wrist.
What did GCCR997 cost at launch?
Seiko’s February 2025 English-language announcement said the watch would be available worldwide from May 2025 and gave a recommended European retail price of €14,500. The Japanese announcement listed ¥1,870,000 including tax and a planned release date of May 23, 2025.

Seiko’s reviewed 2025 announcement does not describe GCCR997 as limited. The limited-edition designation applies to a different Locomotive: the 2024 anniversary model, announced as a run of 300 for Credor’s 50th anniversary. That edition’s quantity should not be attributed to the green GCCR997. Seiko’s account of the anniversary release is available in its May 30, 2024 announcement.
