Pull its launch pin to start a counter that displays days, hours, minutes and seconds from one chosen moment. CW&T says that start time is permanently recorded, so the clock is designed to mark one beginning rather than be reset for another.
What is CW&T Time Since Launch?
CW&T calls it a “single-use, long-scale launch clock”: a timepiece built to make elapsed time since a personally chosen event visible. The brand’s prompt is “What’s your moment zero?” Its suggested starting points range from a wedding or a baby’s birth to quitting smoking, launching a rocket, or simply an ordinary Tuesday morning. CW&T’s product page describes the object and its intended use; Time+Tide’s feature, published August 14, 2024, also describes it as a launch clock.
Unlike a calendar, it does not show the date. Instead, it counts the time that has passed since its launch moment. Unlike a conventional resettable watch, it is meant to preserve a single start rather than offer a fresh start whenever the owner chooses.
What happens when you pull the pin?
The clock arrives in pre-launch mode, cycling through its display segments. Pull the stainless-steel launch pin to start the counter. CW&T says the launch moment is burned into the chip, making it impossible to reset the clock to establish a new start time. The display then tracks days, hours, minutes and seconds from that moment.

How it is built and powered
The display and electronics are suspended inside a borosilicate glass tube, capped with anodized aluminum ends and Buna-N O-rings. The assembly also includes a printed circuit board, electronic components and the stainless-steel launch pin. CW&T lists dimensions of 174 mm by 38 mm and a weight of 285 g. It is an object to place or display, rather than a watch designed to wear on the wrist.
According to the maker, it ships with two AA Energizer L91 Ultimate Lithium batteries. The battery compartment is accessed by pulling an aluminum end cap from the tube. CW&T says the display gives a low-battery indication about six months before replacement is needed, and backup capacitors preserve the clock’s time during a battery change. These are manufacturer instructions and claims, not independently verified operating observations.

How to interpret the longevity and accuracy claims
CW&T gives the counter a designed range of one million days, or 2,738 years. That figure describes how far the counter is designed to count; it does not establish that the electronics, display or batteries will operate for that entire period.
The maker also states a battery life of 150+ years. CW&T describes this as an estimate based on battery capacity and a conservative current draw, reduced further to account for external factors. It is not a demonstrated 150-year test, and it should not be read as a guarantee of the device’s service life.

For timekeeping, CW&T specifies a low-power real-time clock using a temperature-compensated crystal oscillator, with frequency accuracy under ±2.5 parts per million at room temperature. Time+Tide reports the maker’s comparison of that figure with a typical quartz watch crystal. Neither source provides an independent accuracy test, so the figure is best understood as a manufacturer-stated specification.
Price and the optional wall mount
When checked on October 8, 2026, CW&T’s official listing showed the clock at US$420 with 10 units in stock. The page says shipping is calculated at checkout and describes customization and shipping from the New York studio. Time Since Launch makes sense for someone who wants a milestone represented as a tangible, continuously advancing count, and who values the symbolism of choosing one start time. Its defining trade-off is also its purpose: the launch is intended to be permanent. If you want a resettable timer, a calendar display, or a wearable watch, this object serves a different role. It is a physical reminder of one chosen beginning, with a counter that turns that moment into visible elapsed time.
