It is a travel-watch evolution of the DB25 Starry Varius, related to the DB25 World Traveller introduced in 2016. De Bethune describes it as “a travel watch designed for those who move seamlessly between time zones.”
What is the DB25 GMT Starry Varius?
It is a hand-wound GMT watch in De Bethune’s DB25 Starry Varius family. The design brings travel-time functions into the Starry Varius format while retaining its miniature-sky motif. De Bethune’s journal describes the engineering challenge as fitting a GMT movement into the Starry Varius case without losing that visual signature.
The watch’s defining arrangement combines a 24-hour subdial, a day/night indication and a central blue titanium dial decorated to evoke a starry sky. Its time and date displays sit on curved rings around that center.
How do the GMT and day/night displays work?
Second time zone
The 24-hour subdial provides the GMT display, distinguishing the second time zone from the main time display. De Bethune specifies a silver subdial with two-tone decals. The published material describes the indications but does not establish the setting procedure or adjustment controls, so those details should not be inferred from the dial layout alone.

Day and night
A microsphere made from rose gold 5N and blued steel indicates day and night. De Bethune says the decorative technique is comparable to the one used for its spherical moon-phase display.
What does the dial look like?
The dial is built in layers: a curved hour ring and a curved date ring frame the central sky display, while a rose-gold curved minute ring adds another track. At the center, polished blue titanium carries white-gold pins and radiant silver microlight decoration, with a polished rose-gold sunburst insert. The 24-hour subdial sits within this arrangement rather than replacing the main time display.
