The rose-gold De Bethune DB25 GMT Starry Varius is reference DB25VGR: a manually wound 42 mm watch with a second-time-zone display, day/night indicator and jumping date. Its blue, star-studded dial and five-day-power-reserve movement distinguish it from the titanium version in the same family. De Bethune’s press page for the model is dated 18 October 2024; that date does not establish when this specific rose-gold reference was launched.
What is the rose-gold DB25 GMT Starry Varius?
DB25VGR is De Bethune’s rose-gold 5N version of the DB25 GMT Starry Varius. The official product specifications list hours, minutes, a second time zone (GMT), a day/night indicator and a jumping date. The case measures 42 mm in diameter and 11.8 mm thick, with ogival lugs and sapphire crystal coated on both sides with anti-reflective treatment. De Bethune’s DB25VGR specifications identify the model and its functions.
The technical description specifies 3 ATM water resistance, an extra-supple alligator-leather strap with alligator lining, and a 5N rose-gold pin buckle. The water-resistance figure is not a recommendation for swimming. The rose-gold technical description provides those details.
How do the GMT, day/night and date displays work?
The watch combines curved display rings and a separate 24-hour subdial rather than relying on a conventional pair of central hour hands. The 24-hour subdial provides the reference for the second time zone, while its two-tone indications work with the day/night indicator. The jumping date is read from a curved date ring. De Bethune lists these complications but does not explain a setting procedure on the cited product page, so consult the watch’s documentation or an authorized service professional for instructions specific to setting it.

The dial construction gives each indication a distinct surface: the date ring is blued titanium with gold transfer; the curved hour ring is silver; and the curved minute ring is rose gold. The silver 24-hour subdial carries two-tone decals. At the centre, polished blue titanium with white-gold pins and radiant silver microlight decoration is paired with a polished rose-gold sunburst insert. Curved, hand-polished rose-gold hands mark the time, while the date hand is flamed blue. A rose-gold 5N and blued-steel microsphere forms the day/night indicator. These details are set out in the official DB25VGR specifications and technical description.
De Bethune’s journal describes the star field as white-gold pins individually driven into a blued titanium dial, creating the impression of a miniature night sky. It also presents the GMT as a way to remain connected with someone in another time zone. The brand’s journal entry gives that context and identifies this as the brand’s 29th movement.
What movement does DB25VGR use, and how long is its power reserve?
The manually wound DB2507 calibre has a five-day power reserve, which De Bethune says is ensured by a self-regulating twin barrel. Its published specifications list 368 parts, 40 jewels, a 30 mm diameter and a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour. The movement also includes a titanium balance wheel with white-gold inserts, a flat-terminal-curve De Bethune balance spring, a silicon escape wheel, the microsphere day/night indicator and a triple pare-chute shock-absorbing system. These are manufacturer specifications, published on the official product page.

When was it introduced, and what is known about price and availability?
De Bethune’s press page for DB25 GMT Starry Varius material carries the date 18 October 2024. That establishes the date of the press material, not a launch date for the specific rose-gold reference DB25VGR. The dated press page does not resolve that distinction.
