The sailing bezel and points-of-sail indicator give it a distinct purpose, though they take more interpretation than a conventional elapsed-time dive bezel.
This review assesses published specifications and an independent hands-on account; no first-person wear, timing, water-resistance or lume testing was performed.
What makes the Oceanmaster Lume different?
Most luminous watches use glowing hands and indices against a comparatively dark dial. DELMA specifies a fully luminous dial for the Oceanmaster Lume, with luminous hands and indexes as separate elements. Monochrome’s Brice Goulard describes the hands and indices as distinguishable against the illuminated dial. That is a useful observation, but there is no independent brightness or glow-duration measurement available here. Goulard’s judgment—“If you sail at night, the luminous design makes immediate sense”—is an editorial assessment, not a quantified performance result.
The practical idea is straightforward: a bright dial can make the face easier to locate and read in low light, while contrasting hands and indices preserve the time display. Whether the effect works well for a particular wearer depends on conditions and personal perception; it has not been independently measured here.

How the sailing markings work
DELMA positions the Oceanmaster as a combination of professional-diver robustness and sailing navigation features. The collection’s origin is linked by DELMA to an IMOCA Ocean Masters partnership and the Transat New York to Vendée Race. On the Lume, the nautical bezel, tactical planner and points-of-sail indicator supply the sailing identity; a date window sits at six o’clock.
Nautical scale and points of sail
Monochrome explains the bezel as a 360-degree scale used with the dial markers. In its account, a sailor can set a course or layline on the bezel and refer to the points-of-sail symbols to judge an angle to the wind. This is a more interpretive system than the familiar dive bezel, where a simple elapsed-time scale is read against a minute hand. The markings may be useful to someone who understands the sailing context, but they should not be treated as a replacement for a chart, compass or dedicated navigation equipment.

Using it as a dive watch
The bezel is specified as unidirectional and made of stainless steel, and the watch is rated to 500 m / 50 ATM / 1,650 ft. Those specifications make it a high-water-resistance watch on paper. The nautical scale is not as immediately legible for elapsed dive time as a conventional dive bezel, so buyers who prioritize a quick, familiar timing reference may prefer a more conventional layout. A water-resistance rating is a published specification, not a guarantee of a particular watch’s condition or a substitute for appropriate inspection and care.
Size, construction and the specification conflict
DELMA’s current blue and orange product pages list a 41 mm diameter, 13.8 mm height, 51 mm lug-to-lug length and 24 mm lug width. The 51 mm reach and 13.8 mm thickness are important alongside diameter when estimating how the watch may sit on a wrist. No wrist-fit test was conducted.

There is a material source discrepancy: Monochrome’s 2025 introduction describes the case as 44 mm, rather than DELMA’s current 41 mm. The reason is not established, so the diameter should not be treated as settled across all published accounts. If case fit is decisive, verify the dimensions for the exact reference before ordering.
DELMA’s current pages specify a 316L stainless-steel case, screw-down crown, sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating, and a screw-down steel back with mineral crystal. Monochrome’s 2025 introduction and hands-on review instead describe a display or exhibition back, and the introduction also mentions a helium escape valve—details omitted from DELMA’s current reference pages. The discrepancy is unresolved; these descriptions should not be merged into a single definitive specification.

These are manufacturer-published specifications, also reported in Monochrome’s introduction for the movement figures. They do not establish the accuracy of an individual watch or a service interval, and no timing test was performed.

DELMA currently lists two US Lume references: blue 41701.670.6.199 and orange 41701.670.6.159. Both pages show the same core dimensions and movement specifications. The choice is therefore primarily one of color and daytime appearance; the available information does not establish a difference in lume performance between them.

Price, availability and ownership terms
On October 7, 2026, DELMA’s US product pages displayed a price of $1,750 and in-stock status for the blue and orange references. These are volatile listing details, not a promise of future price or availability. Monochrome reported launch prices in 2025 of USD 1,650, EUR 1,500 and CHF 1,350; those historical prices are distinct from DELMA’s current US page display.
DELMA states that the watch has a two-year international warranty, extendable to three years through registration, and offers free 30-day returns. Warranty and return terms can vary by region and may change, so check the applicable terms on the purchase channel before buying.
