Even Realities G1 glasses are everyday eyewear with a small, monochrome green heads-up display (HUD), not camera glasses or an immersive AR headset. They show glanceable information such as navigation, translations, captions, notes, and prompts, while relying on a companion phone app for setup and several features. They suit people who want brief visual cues in conventional-looking frames, but not those seeking a large display, video capture, or standalone computing.
What the G1 can do
Even Realities describes the G1 as daily-wear glasses built around its HAOS (Holistic Adaptive Optical System). The official feature list includes dashboard information, notifications, QuickNote, translation, navigation, teleprompting, Even AI, and transcription. These are short prompts and information overlays, not a virtual cinema screen or a full spatial-computing environment.
- Navigation: Even describes hands-free, turn-by-turn guidance using data from popular navigation apps.
- Translation: the manufacturer lists real-time translation in 22 languages. Its support FAQ says Arabic, Hindi, and Bengali text cannot be displayed, though translated text is available.
- Teleprompting: the glasses can display text for hands-free reading, with adjustable scrolling and an AI mode that matches scrolling to speech, according to Even.
- QuickNote and transcription: voice features can turn spoken input into notes or text.
- Notifications and dashboard: selected information can be viewed without opening a phone.
- Even AI: Even says G1 AI uses voice input only; it cannot inspect text or images because the glasses have no built-in camera.
These are manufacturer-described capabilities, not a guarantee of equal performance in every language, route, or environment. TechRadar’s reviewer reported that Translate, Navigate, Teleprompt, and Transcribe were accessed through the phone app, requiring frequent phone interaction in their experience.

The compact green display is intended for text and information that can be read at a glance. Its limited scope is part of the design: it is not suited to expansive virtual content. Tom’s Guide notes that the G1 has neither cameras nor speakers.
Frames, lenses, and fit
The G1 is offered in panto and rectangular frame shapes, with prescription and non-prescription lens options. The manufacturer describes a frame made with magnesium fused with sandstone, titanium, and silicone at the temple tips, and lists adjustable nose pads. The product page also offers clip-on shades as an optional accessory.
Even recommends optician fitting. Its user guide advises against attempting frame adjustments without professional tools and suggests taking the glasses to an optical store. Fit and lens position matter for everyday comfort and for seeing the projected display. Confirm that your prescription and preferred lens type are supported and ask how fitting is handled in your market before ordering.
Phone, app, and connectivity
The G1 is not a standalone pair of smart glasses. Even says it supports iOS and most Android phones; setup and settings run through the companion app, which activates digital functions and lets users customize settings. Check current compatibility before buying, since the full experience depends on the phone and app, not just Bluetooth.

Some functions may also depend on phone-based services and connectivity. Consider whether app access and an internet connection fit your routine, and check the current requirements for individual features. The G1 should not be treated as fully functional without its companion phone.
Battery, charging, and care
Even claims up to 1.5 days of battery life on a full charge, depending on use; this is a manufacturer claim, not an independently measured runtime. The company says a full charge typically takes two to three hours. The charging case has an internal battery and works as a standalone charging station. The official listed box contents are the glasses with selected lenses, charging case, polishing cloth, USB-C cable, and companion app.

Even documents the G1 as suitable for splashes and light rain, but advises against heavy rain and prolonged water exposure, including swimming. The support FAQ recommends cleaning with a microfiber cloth and optical lens cleaner and warns against ultrasonic cleaning.
Privacy and camera distinction
Even’s support documentation says the G1 has no built-in camera, and that Even AI cannot recognize text or images by looking at them. The glasses do have two microphones, and features such as transcription, captions, and translation involve voice input. Before using those features in meetings, classrooms, workplaces, or public spaces, consider consent expectations and applicable local rules.

TechRadar’s May 20, 2025 review listed a historical starting price of $599 in the U.S. and £594 in the U.K., with prescription lenses adding $150 and clip-on shades costing $100. The reviewer also reported a Pro translation subscription starting at $4.99 per month at that time. These are dated review figures, not current quotes; prices, feature access, and availability may vary by region and change over time.

How the G1 compares with other smart-glasses categories
| Category | Typical purpose | How the G1 fits |
|---|---|---|

| Speaker-equipped smart glasses | Audio playback or calls through built-in speakers | Tom’s Guide notes the G1 has no speakers. |
| Immersive AR headset | Large virtual objects or expansive spatial content | The G1 is a small, glanceable HUD, not an immersive display. |
| Display smart glasses | Brief prompts and information in the wearer’s view | This is the most accurate category for the G1. |
When comparing options, weigh prescription and frame fit, display purpose, phone and app dependence, whether you want camera or audio hardware, battery expectations, and the total price with lenses and accessories.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Who should consider the G1?
The G1 may suit someone who wants conventional-looking prescription-capable eyewear and has a specific use for brief visual prompts, such as directions, translations, notes, or teleprompter text. It is a poor match for people seeking video capture, built-in speakers, a large entertainment display, or standalone operation.
