Update: The Android Headlines exclusive published on July 10, 2024, was a pre-launch report. OnePlus officially unveiled the Watch 2R, Pad 2 and Nord Buds 3 Pro at its Milan Summer Launch Event on July 16, 2024. This article separates the forecast from the products that shipped, then explains which device fits which buyer today.
The short version: the leak was notably accurate about the lineup and core hardware. The Watch 2R became a lighter aluminum Wear OS watch, the Pad 2 arrived as a high-performance 3K/144Hz Android tablet, and the Nord Buds 3 Pro delivered value-focused hybrid ANC. The rumored Watch 2R price of roughly $199–$229 was only an estimate, not a confirmed universal MSRP.

OnePlus Watch 2R: a lighter Wear OS value option
Hardware and display
The Watch 2R uses an aluminum-alloy case measuring 47.6 × 46.6 × 12.1mm. It weighs about 37g without the strap, or about 59g with it, and comes in Forest Green and Gunmetal Gray. Its 1.43-inch AMOLED panel runs at 466 × 466 pixels (326ppi), with a stated 600-nit standard maximum and 1,000-nit high-brightness mode. The watch takes standard 22mm bands.

Dual operating systems and battery claims
A Snapdragon W5 Gen 1 processor handles Wear OS 4 while a BES2700BP microcontroller supports the low-power side. OnePlus rates the 500mAh battery for up to 100 hours in Smart Mode, up to 48 hours under its heavy-use scenario, and up to 12 days in Power Saver. Ten minutes of charging is claimed to provide up to 24 hours, with a full charge taking approximately 60 minutes.
These are OnePlus test scenarios, not guarantees. Always-on display, GPS, calls, third-party watch faces, message volume, alarms and sleep tracking can materially change endurance. The detailed product information is on OnePlus’ U.S. product page and Canadian specifications page.
Tracking, payments and durability
Dual-frequency GPS, 5ATM water resistance and IP68 dust and water resistance are included. The 5ATM rating is not permission for diving, hot showers, saunas or hot springs; OnePlus warns that resistance can decline with age and recommends cleaning and drying after seawater exposure.
The watch supports Google apps, notifications, calls and Google Pay where the relevant country, phone, language and account support them. Earlier secondary reporting suggested NFC or eSIM omissions in some international variants, but the U.S. page explicitly advertises Google Pay and contactless payments. Check the exact regional model rather than treating either claim as global. Health readings are wellness and fitness information, not medical diagnoses.

Who should choose it
- Android users who want Wear OS apps and long claimed battery endurance.
- Runners and travelers who value dual-frequency GPS.
- Buyers who prefer a lighter aluminum case to the Watch 2’s heavier construction.
It is a poor fit for iPhone owners, people who need a small watch, or anyone seeking medical-grade monitoring. At roughly 47mm, it may also overwhelm smaller wrists.
OnePlus Pad 2: flagship performance in a 7:5 tablet
Core specifications
The Pad 2 pairs Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 with an Adreno 750 GPU. The U.S. specification sheet lists 12GB LPDDR5X RAM and 256GB UFS 3.1 storage; other markets can differ. Its 12.1-inch LCD uses a 3000 × 2120 resolution and 7:5 aspect ratio, with adaptive refresh rates up to 144Hz. Brightness is 600 nits at the stated standard maximum and 900 nits in high-brightness mode, so 900 nits is not an always-on level.
A 9,510mAh typical battery (36.99Wh listed) supports 67W SUPERVOOC charging. The tablet weighs 584g and measures 268.66 × 195.06 × 6.49mm. Connectivity includes Wi-Fi 7 support, Bluetooth 5.4 and a USB-C USB 3.2 Gen 1 port rated up to 5Gbps. There are six stereo speakers, a 13MP rear camera and an 8MP front camera.
Multitasking and accessories
OxygenOS 14.1 adds Open Canvas split-screen workflows, AI Toolbox features and One-Touch Transmission for supported OnePlus devices. The OnePlus Stylo 2, Smart Keyboard and Folio Case may be sold separately or bundled depending on market. Include those accessories in the real ownership cost if the tablet is intended as a laptop substitute.

Who should choose it
- Gamers and multitaskers who want Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 performance.
- Users who prefer a high-refresh LCD and a productivity-friendly 7:5 canvas.
- OnePlus phone owners who can use Open Canvas and device-to-device features.
The LCD cannot match an OLED panel’s black levels, accessories add cost, and the tablet is Wi-Fi-oriented rather than a conventional cellular iPad replacement. Its cameras are functional rather than a central reason to buy it.

Noise cancellation and sound
The Nord Buds 3 Pro use hybrid ANC rated up to 49dB across a range up to 4,000Hz. Their 12.4mm titanium-coated dynamic drivers and Basswave 2.0 tuning point toward a lively, bass-forward presentation. Three microphones provide call noise cancellation, and Bluetooth 5.4 handles the wireless connection.
“Up to 49dB” is a manufacturer specification, not a promise that every 49dB of noise disappears. Ear-tip seal, fit, frequency, wind and software settings determine perceived isolation. The official page does not by itself establish codec support, multipoint behavior or noisy-environment call quality for every region.

Battery and charging
OnePlus rates total playback at up to 44 hours with ANC off, or up to 20 hours with ANC on, including the case. A 10-minute charge is claimed to provide up to 11 hours of playback. Who should choose them
- Listeners prioritizing low-cost ANC, strong bass and long case-assisted battery life.
- Android users who want quick pairing and fast top-ups.
They are less suitable for listeners seeking neutral tuning, verified premium codecs or guaranteed multipoint support. Fit remains decisive for both sound and ANC.
What the leak got right—and where it needed caution
- Lineup: Correctly identified the Watch 2R, Pad 2 and Nord Buds 3 Pro ahead of the Milan event.
- Pad 2: Chipset, screen size, high-refresh concept, battery and charging headline were substantially right.
- Watch 2R: The lighter, cheaper-positioned design and green color direction were right.
- Nord Buds 3 Pro: The affordable ANC positioning and stem design matched the final product.
- Price: The $199–$229 Watch 2R figure was an estimate, not a confirmed global MSRP.
- Regional details: NFC, eSIM, RAM, storage, bundles and included accessories must be checked by market.
