The Atelier Wen Perception Millésime 睦 (Mù) is a 2024 limited edition pairing a Grade 5 titanium case and bracelet with a hand-turned purple guilloché dial. It is also the first release in Atelier Wen’s community-driven Millésime series. The brand’s current product page lists it as sold out and retired, so this is a look at the published design and specifications—not a report of hands-on wear or testing.

What the Millésime Mù is

Atelier Wen introduced the Perception Millésime 睦 (Mù) in 2024 as the first edition in a yearly, limited series intended to explore experimental colors and configurations with community input. Atelier Wen explains 睦 (Mù) as conveying amity, kinship, or closeness. The brand says each edition will not be available again once it is gone. See the official Millésime 2024 product page and the October 7, 2024 launch article.

Why the dial stands out

The dial’s fish-scale-like écaille de poisson pattern is hand-turned on a rose engine in Cheng Yucai’s workshop. Atelier Wen describes the dial as a four-layer construction inspired by 榫卯 (sǔn mǎo), the mortise-and-tenon approach used in Chinese building traditions. A purple physical-vapour-deposition (PVD) finish gives the guilloché a color the brand says shifts from ultraviolet to deep purple under different lighting.

Other dial details include applied rhodium-plated indices and a chapter ring printed with a Chinese huiwen pattern in Super-LumiNova X1. The leaf-shaped rhodium-plated hands also use Super-LumiNova X1. Atelier Wen says a prototype purple dial displayed in Geneva during Watches and Wonders 2024 drew community interest and helped lead to the Millésime release.

Case, dimensions, and bracelet

The case and bracelet are Grade 5 titanium. The case measures 40 mm across, 47 mm lug-to-lug, and 9.4 mm thick. Atelier Wen lists a screw-down crown and water resistance of 100 m (10 ATM). The crystal is double-domed sapphire with 10 layers of anti-reflective coating. These are the manufacturer’s published specifications on its product page.

The bracelet has individually chamfered links, tapering from 22 mm at the case to 18 mm at the clasp; its listed thickness decreases from 3 mm to 2.6 mm. Quick-release spring bars make it detachable, while a proprietary on-the-fly micro-adjust system uses a telescopic deployant blade.

Movement and stated performance

Atelier Wen specifies a customized Peacock SL1588A automatic calibre, not the movement used in the current Perception V3. The brand lists 32 jewels, a 3.4 mm thickness, a 41-hour power reserve, and a frequency of 28,800 beats per hour (4 Hz). It states accuracy of ±10 seconds per day, with adjustment in five positions and for temperature fluctuations.

The movement decoration described by Atelier Wen includes circular Côtes de Genève, polished jewel and screw sinks, heat-blued screws, and a tungsten rotor with purple rhodium plating. The brand says the movement was tested by the Horological Research Institute of Light Industry. The published product information does not include an institute report or independent measurements, so the figures and testing claim should be read as manufacturer-provided, not independently verified results.

How it differs from the current Perception V3

The Millésime Mù and current Perception V3 share the Perception name, but they are distinct editions. Atelier Wen’s current collection page lists V3 with a French Pequignet EPM03 movement, chronometer-grade stated accuracy, a 65-hour reserve, and current steel variants. The 2024 purple titanium Millésime instead uses the Peacock SL1588A and has the specifications below. Check Atelier Wen’s current Perception collection for the V3 listing.

Availability now

Atelier Wen currently marks the Millésime Mù “Sold out – Collection retired.” That matches the brand’s statement that Millésime editions will not return once they are gone. The official listing establishes the edition’s status with Atelier Wen; it does not establish whether any authorized retailer or secondary-market seller has stock. The launch article’s strap offer for the first 88 online customers and exhibition pre-orders, and its draw involving full-tantalum prototypes, were launch-specific; the brand said the tantalum configuration would never be for sale.
