Launched in March 2024, it paired an architectural case with the FM-01 seven-day movement and three distinct dial executions. Fleming now lists the Launch Edition as sold out, while its homepage features the later Series 1 Mark II.
What is the Fleming Series 1 Launch Edition?
The Launch Edition was Fleming’s first collection, conceived as a modern interpretation of the time-only wristwatch. Thomas Fleming founded the American brand and developed the design in California; the watch itself was realized with Swiss specialists, including movement partner Chronode. Phillips reported that the debut watch was released in March 2024.
Fleming describes the original trio as a blueprint for its design approach: one case architecture expressed through different materials and dial craft. The case’s sculptural mid-case and open, skeletonized lug sections give the watch a distinctive outline. The brand says the hands and markers echo the shape of the lugs.
Three versions, three dial treatments
The variants share the same basic case design but differ in metal and surface treatment. Fleming’s January 2026 dial editorial describes the Launch Edition as three expressions of dial craft:

- Rose gold: a hand-hammered champagne-colored center paired with a carbon-grey guilloché outer section.
- Platinum: guilloché work combining petal and wave patterns, which the official archive describes as harmonized across the dial.
- Tantalum: a frosted platinum dial with aventurine, bringing a contrasting, textured look to the dark-toned case.
The differences are more than color choices: the versions set contrasting hand-worked textures against the same restrained hours-and-minutes layout.
FM-01: a hand-wound, seven-day movement
The Series 1 uses calibre FM-01, a hand-wound movement developed with Jean-François Mojon and Chronode. Fleming’s current archive specifies a 168-hour power reserve—seven days—along with hours, minutes and small seconds. Launch coverage and a founder interview also report a reserve indicator on the movement side; it is not included in the archive’s function list.

In his WatchTime interview, Fleming said he wanted a movement that would preserve the proportions he had in mind, offer visual interest and high-level finishing, and have a record of reliability. Rather than begin with a wholly new calibre, he said the team worked with Chronode on its version of an existing seven-day movement.
“Our first watch, the Series 1 Launch Edition, is really about interpreting and realizing perhaps the most classic concept in watchmaking — the time-only watch — in our own, new way.”

Case dimensions and construction
Fleming’s archive gives the case a 38.5 mm diameter and 45.5 mm lug-to-lug length. Case height is 8 mm, or 9 mm including the domed crystal. The lug width is 21 mm, and the stated water resistance is 30 metres.
The archive also specifies a domed, anti-reflective sapphire crystal, a strap and a pin buckle. Fleming says the strap’s thickness and taper were adjusted for comfort, stability and appearance; that is the brand’s description, not a result of independent wear testing. The published dimensions are useful points of comparison with a watch you already find comfortable, but they cannot establish wrist fit on their own.

Launch prices and production reports differ
Launch-era coverage gives different variant quantities. Phillips reported 41 watches in total; Monochrome’s listed allocations add up to 39. Fleming’s current archive labels each listed variant “Edition of 7,” but does not document the original allocation or explain the discrepancy. The figures below are attributed to their respective reports rather than treated as a settled production record.

These are historical launch prices in Swiss francs, not current offers. The quantity difference is concentrated in the platinum allocation; the available reports do not establish which count is definitive.

Can you still buy the Launch Edition?
Fleming’s official previous-collections archive currently marks the Launch Edition sold out. The brand’s homepage features the Series 1 Mark II, a later collection rather than new Launch Edition stock. A secondary-market listing, if encountered, would be a separate resale offer and should not be mistaken for current availability from Fleming.
For owners considering another strap, the archive’s 21 mm lug width is a useful starting specification. Width alone does not guarantee compatibility with the watch’s attachment hardware or original buckle, and the archive does not establish that third-party straps are approved by Fleming.
