What are the Girard-Perregaux Laureato Aiiro editions?
“Aiiro” is the name Girard-Perregaux gives these two Japan-oriented Laureato limited editions. The brand describes their dial color as indigo, inspired by Japan, and says the releases mark the 160th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Switzerland and Japan. On its US product page, the manufacturer writes: “Girard-Perregaux marks the 160th anniversary of diplomatic relations existing between Switzerland and Japan with the release of two versions of the Laureato.”

The brand says the Laureato first appeared in 1975. It also calls the titanium chronograph the first use of Grade 5 titanium on a classic Laureato reference; both historical and design statements are the manufacturer’s claims.

The steel model is the simpler of the pair in function, with an automatic GP01800 movement and a date display near 3 o’clock. Girard-Perregaux describes its indigo dial as Grand Feu enamel. The movement listing gives 191 parts, 28 jewels, a 30 mm total diameter, and a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour (4 Hz). The watch measures 10.68 mm thick and has a sapphire display back.

The chronograph adds two counters, small seconds, and a date, powered by the automatic GP03300. Girard-Perregaux lists 419 parts, 63 jewels, a 25.95 mm total diameter, and a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour (4 Hz). Its titanium case is 12.01 mm thick and has a closed caseback.
Girard-Perregaux describes Grade 5 titanium as strong, light, corrosion-resistant, and hypoallergenic. Those are the brand’s material claims; the published product details do not establish a comparative on-wrist weight or comfort measurement against the steel version.

How many Aiiro watches were made?
Girard-Perregaux lists each reference as limited to 100 pieces. That is 100 of the steel time-and-date model and 100 of the titanium chronograph, rather than 100 watches shared between the two references. The brand’s stated production limit does not establish resale demand or investment performance.

Prices and availability depend on region and can change. Girard-Perregaux’s US product page lists the steel Aiiro at USD 19,300. The Japanese product pages list ¥2,739,000 for the steel reference and ¥2,860,000 for the chronograph.
