The line revisits the brand’s Les Classique designs with a vintage-inspired look and offers Automatic watches in 36 mm and 40 mm, plus a 39 mm Quartz model. This first look covers the launch lineup and published specifications; it is not a hands-on review.
Why Maurice Lacroix introduced a 1975 collection
The collection marked Maurice Lacroix’s 50th anniversary in 2025. The brand says its creative team revisited Les Classique, a suite first introduced in 1988, and reinterpreted it in a “retro-modern style.” The result is intended to draw on the brand’s earlier designs without presenting the watches as reproductions.
The visual cues are familiar dress-watch details: dauphine-style hands, applied trapeze-shaped hour markers, sunbrushed dial options and a framed date window. The styling is restrained rather than overtly sporty, even though the Automatic models have a published 100 m water-resistance rating.
What models and sizes are in the launch lineup?
| Model | Case size | Movement | Date position |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1975 Automatic | 36 mm or 40 mm | Automatic; Monochrome identifies calibre ML 115, based on the Sellita SW200 | 3 o’clock, according to Maurice Lacroix |
| 1975 Quartz | 39 mm | Quartz; detailed calibre specification not stated in the cited sources | 6 o’clock, according to Maurice Lacroix |
Maurice Lacroix described blue, black and silver dial options across the collection. Available details identify both a five-row stainless-steel bracelet with folding clasp and a coordinated leather strap with pin buckle. The announcement does not map every dial, movement, size and strap combination to every reference, so check the exact configuration when comparing listings.

How to choose between Automatic and Quartz
Choose an Automatic if you want the larger or smaller size options
The Automatic is offered in 36 mm and 40 mm cases. Its reported ML 115 movement has a 38-hour power reserve, and its date is at 3 o’clock. The published 100 m water resistance and see-through caseback are also reported for the Automatic models.
Choose the Quartz if you prefer its 39 mm case and date layout
The Quartz family is 39 mm, between the two Automatic sizes, and the brand places its date at 6 o’clock. The announcement confirms it as a separate movement option but does not provide the Quartz calibre or a complete technical specification in the cited material.

Consider the strap or bracelet configuration
The collection was offered with a steel bracelet or leather strap, and Maurice Lacroix says the line uses its Easy Strap Exchange system. That feature does not establish that third-party straps or bracelets will fit every watch. Confirm compatibility for the exact model and reference before ordering a replacement.
