The MING 57.04 Iris introduced the brand’s fifth-generation design language on 25 August 2025—and did so with a striking combination: a turquoise-to-purple dial, sculptural nine-piece stepped lugs, and a hand-wound monopusher chronograph with its controls on the left. MING calls it the first destro watch in its collection. The 100-piece limited edition is now listed as sold out by the brand.
A new design generation—and MING’s first destro
MING announced the 57.04 Iris on 25 August 2025 as an anniversary release and the opening expression of its fifth-generation design language. The brand describes that language as “a modern take on Art Deco: tightly sculptural with plenty of visual presence and restrained ornamentation.” The phrase “fifth generation” is MING’s own numbering: the company says it skipped a fourth generation as a nod to superstition surrounding the number four. That is the brand’s stated rationale, not a claim about every Asian culture.
The Iris was also MING’s first destro watch. In this configuration, the crown and the chronograph’s single pusher are on the left side of the case, at nine o’clock. MING says the layout allowed the designer to specify a large, tactile crown and pusher without worrying about interference with the wearer’s wrist; that is the brand’s design rationale, rather than a universal ergonomic benefit. How the monopusher chronograph works
The hand-wound Sellita for MING Cal. SW562.M1 operates the hours and minutes as well as the chronograph. Its central seconds hand tracks elapsed seconds, while a 30-minute counter sits at six o’clock. A single pusher handles the chronograph functions, rather than separate start, stop, and reset buttons. The official specification gives approximately 60 hours of power reserve at full wind. Hodinkee reports a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour and notes that the movement is not chronometer-certified.

A color-shifting, deeply sculpted dial
The dial’s color changes from turquoise through blue to purple as the light and viewing angle shift. MING attributes the effect to a multiphasic coating applied over a machined brass base. The surface is deeply dished and fluted, giving the changing color a radial, dimensional quality; independent launch coverage from Monochrome Watches also noted the pronounced color shift and sculpted dial.
The floating 30-minute counter at six uses sandwich construction and luminous material. The hands are diamond-cut and blue-coated, with Super-LumiNova X1. MING says the dial’s radial pattern and dynamic color inspired the name “Iris.” Above it, laser-cut indices in the sapphire crystal are filled with MING Polar White.

The case’s defining detail is its three-step lug construction: MING says each stepped arrangement uses nine separate pieces. The lug tops are polished while their sides are satin-brushed, adding contrast to the case’s layered geometry.

Hodinkee and Monochrome reported a launch price of CHF 6,250 and a limited run of 100 watches. That is the historical launch price, not a current market valuation. MING’s product page currently marks the Iris sold out and offers a waitlist for future availability. Ace Jewelers’ listing identifies the reference but asks prospective buyers to contact the retailer about availability; neither listing establishes current stock.

The supplied configuration includes MING’s stainless-steel Universal Bracelet and an anthracite goat strap with a stainless-steel tuck buckle. Ace Jewelers displays EUR 6,777 excluding VAT on its listing, but that is a retailer-page figure, not a verified current offer or a direct conversion of the launch price.
