The result sets the meteorite’s natural geometric lines against a hand-worked, wave-like surface—a striking contrast at the center of this 2024 DB28xs model.
Why the DB28xs Aérolite’s dial stands out
De Bethune describes the dial as blue meteorite with random guilloché and a starry sky made from white-gold stars. The material is Muonionalusta meteorite, whose geometric lines supply a naturally patterned ground for the irregular, rippling guilloché. The manufacturer presents that contrast as central to the design.
Fondation Haute Horlogerie describes the surface treatment as rippled guilloché applied to a sliver of Muonionalusta, with heat treatment creating blue and violet tones. Monochrome’s 2024 first look further reports thermal oxidation and spherical white-gold pins for the stars, and characterizes the meteorite, heat treatment and hand-guilloché as making each dial distinct. That is the publication’s description; the sources do not establish that every dial has an identical pattern or appearance.
De Bethune founder Denis Flageollet put the appeal of the material this way: “No other metal is as infused with pure energy and emotion as iron meteorites, which have taken form in the furnace of stars.”

Case, display and movement
The watch has a matte anthracite zirconium case measuring 38.7 mm across and 7.4 mm thick, according to De Bethune’s 2024 archive. Sapphire crystals cover the front and back, while patented floating lugs form part of the case design. The dial’s anthracite hours-and-minutes ring carries pink transferred Arabic numerals; polished pink-gold hands indicate the time. Fondation Haute Horlogerie lists water resistance at 30 metres.
Inside is De Bethune’s hand-wound DB2005 calibre. The manufacturer lists a 30 mm movement, 160 parts, 27 jewels, and a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour. A self-regulating twin-barrel system provides a six-day power reserve. Other listed features include a titanium balance with white-gold inserts, a De Bethune balance spring with a flat terminal curve, a silicon escape wheel and a triple pare-chute shock-absorbing system.

Model identity and production
De Bethune’s archive identifies the watch as the DB28xs Aérolite, reference DB28XSZM, and dates its launch to 2024. The technical sheet styles the reference DB28xsZM. The maker places it alongside earlier DB28xs Starry Seas and DB28XP Météorite designs.
De Bethune calls production “limited annual production.” That wording establishes a limited-production framing, but the manufacturer’s cited material gives no total production number and does not confirm present availability.
