The Fleming Series 1 Launch Edition Tantalum is a limited-run, manually wound watch launched in 2024. Its defining combination is a tantalum case, a frosted-platinum dial with blue aventurine details, and Fleming’s seven-day FM-01 movement. The announced edition comprised 25 numbered watches at a launch price of CHF 45,500; those historical figures do not establish current availability or resale value.
What is the Fleming Series 1 Tantalum?
It is one of three reported case-material versions of Fleming’s debut Series 1 watch, alongside platinum and rose gold. The tantalum model was introduced as a 2024 Launch Edition. Fratello’s launch coverage lists a 38.5 mm case diameter, 46.5 mm lug-to-lug length and 9 mm thickness, with the thickness including the domed sapphire crystal. Time+Tide gives a slightly shorter 46 mm lug-to-lug figure, so published measurements differ slightly between outlets. Fratello Time+Tide
How the case and dial distinguish it
The case is made of tantalum, while the dial brings together two contrasting materials and finishes: frosted platinum and dark blue aventurine. Aventurine appears at the center and in the small-seconds section. The front remains a time-focused display with small seconds; the power-reserve indication is on the movement side rather than the dial. What is inside: the FM-01 movement
The FM-01 is a manually wound movement designed by Chronode, with twin barrels and a stated seven-day power reserve. Fratello lists a frequency of 21,600 vibrations per hour and 29 jewels. Phillips describes the FM-01 as a modified version of Chronode’s C101. Fratello Phillips

The movement-side reserve display gives the seven-day specification a visible counterpart, while keeping the dial uncluttered. That layout is a useful distinction from watches that show their reserve on the front.
Launch quantity and price: historical figures, not a stock check
Fratello and Phillips reported an announced run of 25 individually numbered tantalum watches and a launch price of CHF 45,500. These are 2024 launch details, not evidence of current stock, a current asking price, or the price a buyer might encounter on the secondary market. Fratello Phillips

Fleming’s official Media Center lists March 2026 materials for the Series 1 Mark II Pacific and Redwood, as well as press images for the Launch Edition. That confirms later brand activity but does not say whether any of the original tantalum pieces are available. Fleming Media Center
Who made the watch?

In that Phillips interview, founder Thomas Fleming reflected on his early assumptions about starting a watch brand: “My conception before that was in order for someone to start a new watch brand, they’d have to have a watchmaking background. They’d have to be Swiss. You’d have to have a gazillion dollars to start a manufacture. Otherwise, you just couldn’t really make a high-end watch.
