The two Bvlgari Diagono Aluminium choices
AL29A: a 29 mm quartz option
For his wife, Daan singled out the 29 mm quartz Diagono Aluminium ref. AL29A. He described the series as quirky, with aluminum watches as well as models combining a titanium case with a rubber bezel and strap. His 2024 price impression for the AL29A was €500–1,500. That is a dated observation, not a present-day valuation.

AC 38 TA: yellow-dial automatic chronograph
Daan’s own choice was the 38 mm automatic chronograph ref. AC 38 TA, specifically with a bright yellow dial. He put it at around €2,500 in 2024. For either model, he wanted an example with rubber straps still in decent condition, making the strap’s visible state part of the appeal rather than a detail to overlook.
Breitling Aerospace: two-tone with italic numerals
Daan’s preferred Aerospace was a two-tone version with italic numerals. An air-squadron emblem would also appeal to him, though he said it generally raises the price. He mentioned about €1,500 for plain examples in his 2024 article; the figure is his observation, not a current asking-price benchmark. IWC Porsche Design Compass Watch ref. 3511
The Compass Watch appeals to Daan for its clean dial and integrated compass beneath it. He described the case as 38.5 mm and cited one natural-titanium-color example at €5,900 and an older, darker example at €5,500. Those are examples he noted in 2024, not comparable sale results. Daan explicitly said he had not seen this watch in person, so his comments describe its design appeal rather than hands-on experience.
IWC Kleine Portugieser ref. IW3531
For a more classical-looking choice, Daan favored the 35 mm Kleine Portugieser in yellow gold over a rose-gold alternative. He praised its numeral font and noted that it contains an automatic JLC movement. He had seen examples offered for roughly €6,000 in 2024. A nubuck strap was his styling suggestion, not a tested fit or product recommendation.

Girard-Perregaux Richeville ref. 2710
Daan’s chronograph pick was the hand-wound Richeville ref. 2710, with a Lemania 1872 movement. Its tonneau-like case, large pushers, black dial, Arabic numerals, and beveled sub-dials made the design stand out to him. He considered about €3,000 fair in his 2024 opinion; that judgment should not be read as a current market price. He suggested a sailcloth or NATO strap for a more casual look.
