The Furlan Marri Disco Volante debuted in July 2024 as a compact, hand-wound dress watch with a rounded, lugless-looking case and three distinct dial treatments: Havana, Celeste, and Verde. Its 38 mm case, small-seconds display, and Italian leather straps define the proposition; its reported power reserve is inconsistent across sources, and launch prices should not be mistaken for current quotes.
What the Disco Volante is—and what it references
Furlan Marri’s Disco Volante is a time-only dress watch built around a curved, rounded case that keeps conventional lugs out of view. The name refers to a design language rather than one specific vintage reference: Time+Tide notes that “Disco Volante” was a nickname used for a group of historical watches, not the official designation of a single model. GPHG describes Furlan Marri’s approach as a modern take on those codes, with attention centered on the dial, rounded edges, a curved bezel, and a four-part dial.
Fratello’s Thor Svaboe called the direction “Curvaceous” and said it surprised him relative to the brand’s earlier catalog. That is the reviewer’s characterization; the concrete change is the watch’s distinctly rounded, stepped-bezel profile.

The palette is the clearest way to distinguish the three launch looks. The lume color adds another visual difference, especially between Celeste and the two warmer-toned lume treatments.

Case size and wearing proposition
The steel case measures 38 mm across and 38 mm lug-to-lug, with a stated thickness of 8.95 mm including the crystal. Fratello gives the case-only thickness as 8.1 mm. Those measurements make it compact on paper, while the curved bezel and concealed-lug appearance give it a different outline from a conventional straight-sided, lugged dress watch. The case uses 316L stainless steel with polished and brushed surfaces.
A sapphire crystal with anti-reflective treatment sits over the dial, and the sapphire caseback reveals the movement. Water resistance is 5 ATM, or 50 m. That is a specification rather than a reason to treat this dress watch as a dedicated swimming or diving watch.

Movement, functions, and the reserve discrepancy
The Disco Volante uses a manually wound ETA/Peseux 7001, displaying hours, minutes, and small seconds. Fratello lists 21,600 vibrations per hour and 17 jewels; Furlan Marri redesigned and decorated the movement bridges.
Published power-reserve figures conflict. Fratello’s 2024 specification table and Time+Tide report 42 hours, while GPHG’s Disco Verde entry states 58 hours. The available sources do not establish whether that difference reflects a reference variation, a later specification, or an error, so neither figure should be treated as a settled universal specification.

Straps and replacement fit
The launch configuration includes two Italian leather straps. The cited specifications describe vegetable-tanned leather, a 20 mm width, curved ends, and quick-release spring bars. The curved ends matter: a replacement strap’s 20 mm width alone does not guarantee that it will meet the case neatly. Confirm that a candidate strap has compatible curved ends and spring-bar arrangement before buying.
