What is the Girard-Perregaux x Bamford Deep Diver?
It is a collaboration between Girard-Perregaux and Bamford Watch Department, limited to 350 pieces. Girard-Perregaux presents it as a return to the Deep Diver, a design first introduced as Reference 9108 in 1969. The original combined a cushion-shaped case, the brand’s Gyromatic automatic winding system and a distinctive 14-facet bezel. The modern edition revisits that geometric character with a titanium case and orange, white and blue dial details. George Bamford, founder of Bamford Watch Department, described the collaboration as “an amazing honour” and an opportunity to bring Bamford’s style to Girard-Perregaux’s Deep Diver.

How the design and controls work
The watch uses an internal, bidirectional rotating bezel rather than a conventional external timing bezel. Its locking crown controls the bezel, while luminous markers and hands support legibility. A date window sits at 3 o’clock. The angular cushion case and bright orange, white and blue accents make the modern piece visually distinct from a restrained vintage reissue.
Bamford lists a blue rubber strap fitted to the watch and an orange rubber alternative in the package. That gives the owner a way to change the look without changing the watch itself.
