But that 2018 review describes an older steel model, not the current Seaforth IV. The IV is a substantially updated titanium watch, and Halios’s listing currently shows its pre-order closed and the batch sold out.
Why the Bahama Yellow Seaforth feels like a summer watch
Felix Scholz’s September 1, 2018 Time+Tide review asks, “So what makes a summer watch?” His answer is “water resistance, weather-suitability and a fun personality.” The Bahama Yellow Seaforth brings those qualities together: practical water resistance, a smooth rubber strap and a vivid tropical dial.
“Like a sunrise on the wrist” is Scholz’s metaphor for its cheerful color and overall character, not a technical category or performance claim. He particularly liked the restrained dial text and the date window matched to the dial color. The effect is playful without making the face feel cluttered.
What the 2018 review’s watch is
The reviewed Bahama Yellow example is an earlier-generation Seaforth. Scholz describes a 41 mm steel case with 200 m water resistance, domed sapphire crystal and C3 SuperLuminova on baton markers and matching hands. Inside is an ETA 2824-2 automatic movement beneath a solid caseback, with a date display at six o’clock. The watch was shown on a smooth rubber strap.

Those details belong to that reviewed configuration; they should not be treated as specifications for every Seaforth. In particular, its ETA movement and date display are not the same as the Seaforth IV’s movement and no-date dial.
How the older Seaforth compares with the Seaforth IV
Halios’s current Seaforth IV listing describes a redesigned titanium watch. The table separates its listed specifications from the older versions discussed in the reviews; historical prices are not current offers.

The original-generation details and prices in the third column are from Worn & Wound’s review; they are historical, not a substitute for current Seaforth IV specifications. That review describes four dial treatments and several bezel choices, including fixed, steel and sapphire-insert options. It notes that a 12-hour bezel can track a second time zone. Its reviewer liked the fit on his seven-inch wrist, a personal impression rather than a guarantee of fit for other wrists.
Which version and bezel make sense?
Choose the earlier Bahama Yellow style for color and a date
The 2018 review’s appeal is its sunny yellow dial, six o’clock date and GMT bezel. If you are considering a used earlier Seaforth, check the exact generation and configuration rather than assuming every yellow or GMT-bezel version shares the reviewed example’s specifications.

Choose the Seaforth IV configuration by bezel function
The Seaforth IV’s fixed-bezel option is the simpler choice if you prefer a clean case profile. The rotating-bezel option adds a unidirectional 120-stop bezel, useful for timing elapsed intervals. These are distinct case options, so confirm which diameter and bezel are attached to the listing you are considering.
The current IV also changes the material, movement and date arrangement: titanium replaces the older review’s steel, and the listed Sellita SW200-2 is no-date with a 65-hour reserve. Those changes make it a different proposition, not simply the same bright watch with a new name.

Is the Seaforth IV available to buy now?
As shown on Halios’s page on October 8, 2026, the listed USD $765 Seaforth IV December/January pre-order batch is closed and marked sold out. The page estimates delivery for that batch in late December 2026 or early January 2027; that estimate applies to orders in the closed batch and does not indicate that new orders are open. What strap fits a Halios Seaforth?
The Seaforth IV is listed with 20 mm lugs. Halios’s FKM rubber strap is also listed at 20 mm and uses quick-release spring bars, making it a relevant option for that lug width. A generic 20 mm strap is not automatically guaranteed to fit every Seaforth: check its end shape and the specific watch generation before buying.
What Halios’s origin does—and does not—tell you
Halios says on its About page that the company began in 2009. It describes production partners in Asia, Switzerland, Germany and the United States, with final quality control and testing in Vancouver, Canada. That is a Canadian company with a broader manufacturing footprint; it is not evidence that the watches are made entirely in Canada.
