The Cuervo y Sobrinos Historiador Historic Endurance reference 3144.1HV is a 40 mm automatic chronograph made for the brand’s Iberian Historic Endurance motorsport context. Its British-racing-green dial, silver registers and 30-minute chronograph counter give it a distinctly vintage-racing look, while its compact-for-a-chronograph case and ETA 2894-based movement set it apart from the later, larger Bali Blue model with the same Historic Endurance name.
What is the Historiador Historic Endurance 3144.1HV?
Reference 3144.1HV is a limited edition Historiador chronograph associated with Cuervo y Sobrinos’ relationship with Iberian Historic Endurance, a classic-car racing series. The brand describes itself as the series’ official timekeeper; the races take place at circuits in Spain, Portugal, France and Belgium. The green 3144.1HV was presented in that 2023 context and is limited to 76 individually numbered pieces, according to Fratello Watches’ September 28, 2023 review.
It is important to distinguish this watch from the more recent Bali Blue Historic Endurance, reference 3141.1HEP. The shared collection name does not mean they have the same case, movement or dial.
Case size, wear and water resistance
The 3144.1HV has a stainless-steel case measuring 40 mm across, 51.5 mm from lug to lug and 12.45 mm thick. Those dimensions, particularly the relatively modest 40 mm diameter for an automatic chronograph, make the watch less imposing on paper than the 41 mm Bali Blue counterpart. Its double-curved sapphire crystal has an antireflective coating.

- Exquisite Craftsmanship: Elevate your style with our 1960 Racing Chronograph Mens Watches These stainless steel watches for men are meticulously crafted with 316L high precision surgical-grade stainless steel and MIYOTA 6S20 CHRONOGRAPH Movement
In his hands-on review, Fratello’s Jorg Weppelink found the curved lugs comfortable on the wrist and the chronograph easy to operate. These are his impressions of the watch, not a universal fit guarantee; wrist shape and strap adjustment affect how it wears.
Fratello lists water resistance at 50 m (5 ATM). That is the stated specification, not a recommendation for a particular water activity.

Green racing dial and chronograph layout
The dial pairs British racing green with two silver registers and a black outer tachymeter scale. Printed Arabic numerals carry white Super-LumiNova. Leaf-shaped hands show the hours and minutes, with a separate small-seconds hand; the chronograph uses a central seconds hand and an arrow-tipped minute hand. A date window sits at 6 o’clock.
The resulting layout balances the racing cues with legibility: the contrasting registers stand out against the green, and the central chronograph seconds hand makes elapsed seconds easy to follow. The tachymeter is a scale for calculating speed over a measured distance; using it requires a known distance and a timed pass.

Movement and functions
The automatic CYS 8129 movement is based on the ETA 2894. Fratello’s 2023 specification list gives it 37 jewels, a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour and a 42-hour power reserve. It can also be wound by hand, and its oscillating weight is engraved.
The watch provides hours, minutes, small seconds, chronograph timing and a date. The chronograph has a central seconds display and a 30-minute counter; it is not a long-duration hour-counter chronograph according to the published specification.

- HAND-WOUND MECHANICAL CHRONOGRAPH—— Powered by the ST19 hand-wound chronograph movement. This mechanical watch does not use a battery—manual winding is required for normal operation and precise timing.
- DAILY MANUAL WINDING RITUAL—— To keep the watch running, gently rotate the crown clockwise about 15–20 turns each day. When resistance is felt, winding is complete—an engaging, hands-on mechanical experience.
- FUNCTIONAL CHRONOGRAPH WITH TACHYMETER—— Equipped with a mechanical chronograph and tachymeter scale for measuring speed over distance, inspired by classic motorsport instrumentation.
- COMFORTABLE FIT & EASY STRAP SWITCHING—— 40 mm case diameter with a 12.4 mm thickness offers balanced wrist presence. Lug width is 20 mm, paired with quick-release straps (120 + 80 mm) for easy daily switching between styles.
Strap, caseback and limited-edition details
The watch is fitted with a black perforated calfskin racing-style strap, accented with green stitching and secured by a folding deployant clasp. The steel-and-sapphire caseback displays a Historic Endurance 76 graphic and an individual edition number.
