The OMEGA Seamaster Diver 300M Black Black (reference 210.92.44.20.01.003) takes the familiar dive-watch formula into near-monochrome territory: a 43.5 mm black ceramic case, wave-pattern ceramic dial, ceramic bezel and black rubber strap. It pairs that stealth look with a no-date Master Chronometer movement and a 300 m water-resistance rating. The tradeoff is substantial wrist presence and luxury-watch pricing; the all-black treatment also makes legibility a key question rather than an assumption.
What is the Seamaster Diver 300M Black Black?
Black Black is the full-ceramic, black-rubber-strap version of OMEGA’s Seamaster Diver 300M, reference 210.92.44.20.01.003. It is not the steel Diver 300M with a dark dial, nor should it be confused with other ceramic references or the related NATO-strap variant. OMEGA Hong Kong’s regional catalog identifies this reference as Black Black and lists the rubber-strap configuration: OMEGA Hong Kong catalog.
The design removes most bright visual cues. Black ceramic covers the case, dial and bezel; the strap and buckle continue the dark treatment. The dial’s raised wave motif and the bezel’s dive scale provide texture in place of conventional color contrast, while luminous material gives the hands and markers a separate role in low light.
Case size and wrist fit
The case measures 43.5 mm across. Published thickness differs by source and measurement convention: Hodinkee lists 14.47 mm, while Fratello reports 15 mm thick and 50 mm lug-to-lug. Those figures should be read as each publication’s specifications, not combined into a single measurement. See Hodinkee’s launch coverage and Fratello’s hands-on report.

- Omega Seamaster Automatic Chronometer Black Dial Men's Watch 210.30.42.20.01.001
That is a sizable watch, and the 50 mm lug-to-lug figure is especially relevant to how it may sit across a wrist. Monochrome’s Xavier Markl described the curved lugs and strap integration as comfortable; that is a reviewer’s wrist impression, not a fit guarantee for every wearer. The black ceramic case and integrated-looking rubber strap make the watch visually cohesive, but they do not make its dimensions disappear.
Is the all-black dial easy to read?
There is no controlled legibility test in the cited coverage, so readability is best treated as a reported impression. Fratello’s Robert-Jan Broer wrote that his initial reaction improved after putting the watch on wrist and that he could read the time despite the blacked-out treatment. He attributed this to contrast between the hands and dial and the anthracite luminous material. In daylight, raised surfaces and tonal differences do much of the work; in darkness, the luminous elements provide the intended contrast. The subdued palette is distinctive, but it is not the clearest choice for someone who prioritizes high-contrast, instantly obvious time reading.

Movement and dive specifications
The watch uses automatic OMEGA Calibre 8806, the no-date counterpart to Calibre 8800. Launch coverage identifies it as Master Chronometer certified, with 35 jewels, a frequency of 25,200 vibrations per hour and a 55-hour power reserve. Monochrome and Fratello report magnetic-field resistance up to 15,000 gauss in the context of that certification. Specifications are reported in the launch coverage from Monochrome and Fratello.
Published dive specifications include water resistance to 300 m / 30 bar, a unidirectional bezel with a 60-minute scale and a helium escape valve. These are model specifications, not confirmation that any individual watch remains water resistant today; condition, seals and service history matter, so a specific pre-owned example should be inspected before water use.

Quick Recap
Who is the Black Black for?
- Consider it if: you want a technically specified Diver 300M whose all-black ceramic construction is the main attraction, and you like a no-date dial and rubber strap.
- Try it on first if: your wrist is sensitive to a 43.5 mm case or you are unsure about the reported 50 mm lug-to-lug span.
- Look elsewhere if: you prefer strong color contrast, a smaller case, or a price that sits below luxury-watch territory.
