Hands-On: HTD Aquatìc Bicchierini and SpaceBoy Dive Watches

The HTD Aquatìc Bicchierini and SpaceBoy share a compact 200m-rated platform but make different dial statements. Here’s what sets them apart and what the hands-on review found.

The HTD Aquatìc Bicchierini and SpaceBoy share a compact stainless-steel case, 200m water-resistance rating, 120-click bezel, Miyota 90S5 automatic movement and steel bracelet. Their main difference is the dial: the Bicchierini is the more conventional design, with applied luminous markers, while the SpaceBoy has a more emphatic retro look, with abundant lume and inverted 3, 6 and 9 numerals. In Fratello’s June 2025 hands-on review, the reviewer praised their proportions and comfort but found the slim, faceted bezel harder to grip. Fratello’s review and its August 2026 update provide the latest detailed coverage cited here.

What distinguishes the Bicchierini from the SpaceBoy?

These are two dial treatments within HTD’s Aquatìc family, rather than watches built around different case or movement platforms. The Bicchierini is the straightforward choice; the SpaceBoy makes the watch’s vintage-inspired character more conspicuous.

Model Dial design Best fit for
Aquatìc Bicchierini Applied luminous markers and a comparatively conventional layout. The 2025 review describes this version as replacing printed lume dots on the predecessor, which editorial coverage called Palletoni or Pallettoni. Someone who wants a relatively restrained, legible take on the retro skin-diver look.
Aquatìc SpaceBoy Printed luminous indexes, inverted 3, 6 and 9 numerals, and extended minute-track marks create a busier, more distinctive dial. Someone who prefers a more unusual, lume-heavy design.

Fratello’s August 2026 coverage reports blue, green and brown options for both designs, plus an orange SpaceBoy with a black bezel. Colors and references can change, so check HTD’s Aquatìc catalog for current options.

The collection takes its cues from 1950s and 1960s skin divers: recreational dive watches with a less tool-like, more everyday character. That is a design reference, not a claim that these HTD models are historical watches. For more context on the models and their styling, see Fratello’s 2026 article.

How the Aquatìc is sized and equipped

Fratello’s 2025 review and 2026 update report the following specifications for the reviewed Aquatìc MkII models:

Specification Reported detail
Case Stainless steel; 39.4mm diameter, 47mm lug-to-lug and 11.5mm thick, including the crystal
Crystal and case back Sapphire crystal and screw-in stainless-steel case back
Water resistance 200m / 20 ATM, as listed in Fratello’s 2026 specifications
Bezel 120-click rotating bezel with an aluminum insert, silver markings and an applied luminous pip; intended for timing up to 60 minutes
Movement Automatic Miyota 90S5; Fratello reports 28,800 vibrations per hour and a 42-hour power reserve
Bracelet Three-row stainless-steel bracelet with folding push-button clasp; the 2025 review reports a 20mm width at the case, tapering to 16mm at the clasp
Functions Hours, minutes, seconds and a 60-minute bezel

Fratello’s 2025 review is inconsistent about the movement’s jewel count: its prose says 24, while its specification table and 2026 article say 25. The jewel count is therefore best confirmed with HTD rather than treated as settled. The same review lists an expected accuracy range of -10/+30 seconds per day; that is a stated caliber figure, not a result of the reviewer’s timing test. See the 2025 review and 2026 specifications.

What the hands-on review says about wearing and using it

In his June 2025 review, Jorg Weppelink said both watches wore well on his 18.5cm wrist. He praised their familiar proportions and slim profile. That is one reviewer’s experience; a 39.4mm case and 47mm lug-to-lug measurement will still feel different depending on wrist shape and personal preference.

Weppelink also found a practical drawback in the bezel. He liked its slim, faceted appearance and action, but reported that the narrow edge was harder to grip and less enjoyable to turn than the bezel on a typical diver. If frequent bezel operation matters to you, that trade-off deserves attention alongside the watch’s compact profile. These impressions are from Fratello’s hands-on review, not independent testing of every production example.

What does the HTD Aquatìc cost?

Published prices differ by date and source, so none should be assumed to be the current total for every buyer. Fratello reported a June 2025 launch price of €664 before VAT and estimated roughly €800 in the Netherlands. Its August 2026 update reported €803, while HTD’s catalog displayed several Aquatìc models at €809.99 when accessed on October 7, 2026. The sources do not explain the difference. Check the HTD catalog and the destination-specific checkout for the current price, taxes and duties; HTD’s product-page language indicates these can differ by region.

Is the Aquatìc a dive watch in practical terms?

The published specification is 200m water resistance, but a rating alone does not establish that a particular watch is suitable for a specific dive. The available coverage does not identify a standards-body certification or manufacturer instruction validating particular dive use. Treat the figures as model specifications, not a guarantee about a used, damaged or overdue-for-service example. The Aquatìc is a mechanical watch, not a dive computer; anyone using it underwater should rely on appropriate training and a redundant timing plan.
