The Christopher Ward C60 Trident Reef is a colorful, automatic dive-style watch offered in five designs and two case sizes, with a distinctive colored side shroud and no date window. Its 200 m water-resistance rating, Sellita SW200-1 movement and four-part case give it substance beyond the bright palette; the choice between 41 mm and 44 mm is the key fit decision.
What makes the C60 Trident Reef different?
The Reef uses a redesigned four-part Light-catcher case: a stainless-steel core paired with a colored side shroud. Fratello’s June 19, 2025 hands-on report describes the Acro White shroud as sandblasted ceramic and the other shrouds as aluminum. The watch also has a bezel with 120 clicks and an insert matched to the dial color, according to that report.

That combination makes the Reef visually distinct from the C60 Trident Pro. It retains the recognizable dive-watch layout, but emphasizes vivid color and a no-date dial rather than a conventional, more restrained presentation. Fratello attributes the collection’s colors to work by Franco-Croatian paper artist and designer Ana Brecevic, whose coral-like art addresses biodiversity and marine ecosystems.
Which Reef color and size should you consider?
Five colorways
Fratello lists five versions: Acro White, Helio Blue, Tuba Orange, Galaxea Black and Chalice Yellow. Despite its name, Chalice Yellow has a green dial with a yellow minute hand and strap. The range includes both bright options and black and white designs; changing the strap can also shift the watch’s overall look.

41 mm or 44 mm
| Size | Diameter | Lug-to-lug | Thickness |
|---|---|---|---|
| 41 mm | 41 mm | 47.9 mm | 11.45 mm |
| 44 mm | 44 mm | 51.4 mm | 11.45 mm |
Fratello’s Jorg Weppelink says he handled both sizes in two colors and preferred the 41 mm proportions given the watch’s relatively thin profile. He also notes that the curved lugs hug the wrist nicely. Those are his hands-on impressions, not a guarantee of fit for every wrist. The shorter 41 mm lug-to-lug measurement is a useful comparison if you are choosing between the two.
Movement, display and accuracy
Christopher Ward’s product handbook identifies the movement as a Sellita SW200-1 automatic with 26 jewels, a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour (4 Hz), central hacking seconds and a stated power reserve of 38–41 hours. The watch has no date window. Fratello reports a sapphire display back through which the movement can be seen.
For timing tolerance, the handbook gives -5/+12 seconds per day. Fratello’s June 2025 article instead reports ±20 seconds per day. These are different published figures, so they should not be combined or treated as the same specification; the manufacturer handbook figure is the official product specification cited here.
Water resistance, construction and straps
The handbook rates the watch at 20 ATM (200 m) water resistance and specifies a sapphire crystal, screw-down crown and screw-down caseback. It also lists a unidirectional bezel with an aluminum/ceramic insert. The available sources do not establish a dive-watch certification, so the 200 m rating should not be mistaken for one.

For the stated water resistance, Christopher Ward instructs owners to keep the screw-down crown flush to the case. The handbook specifies a 22 mm strap width and quick-release strap or bracelet changes. Check the attachment details and fit before buying a third-party strap; width alone does not establish compatibility.

Care and the guarantee described in the handbook
Christopher Ward’s handbook says, “We recommend you service your watch every three to four years to keep it in peak condition.” It describes the 60|60 Guarantee as a 60-day return window for a watch in perfect condition and free repair for mechanical faults within five years. The handbook is the source for those terms; check Christopher Ward’s current guarantee and service terms before relying on them for a purchase.
The handbook’s introductory message is signed by Mike France, identified as CEO & co-founder, and says: “Your C60 Trident Reef watch has been designed in England and handbuilt in Switzerland by highly talented craftspeople.” This is Christopher Ward’s own description of the watch’s design and manufacture.
