The Cimier 711 Heritage Chronograph is a retro-inspired automatic chronograph built around an unusual counter layout: its 30-minute register sits at 11 o’clock and its 12-hour register at 7. The barrel-shaped steel case measures 39.5 mm across, but its 14.45 mm thickness gives it more presence than the diameter alone suggests. Cimier’s automatic CIM 100 is based on the Valjoux 7750, modified with a bespoke module for the 7-and-11 arrangement.
What makes the Cimier 711 different?
The 711 takes design inspiration from Cimier’s Sport, a simpler chronograph whose central seconds hand could be started and stopped to time short intervals. The modern watch is not a direct reissue: it adds a contemporary chronograph movement and construction while carrying forward some of the earlier design language. Its defining visual feature is the placement of the chronograph counters. The 30-minute counter is at 11 o’clock, while the 12-hour counter is at 7. That 7-and-11 arrangement supplies the “711” name and gives the dial a less familiar balance than the conventional 3-and-9 layout.
The official blue version pairs a dark-blue sunray-brushed dial with luminous markers. A tachymeter scale runs inward toward the center, while a telemeter scale marks the dial’s outer perimeter. The result is a busy instrument-style face, but each scale has a distinct purpose.

How do the 7 and 11 subdials work?
The two small registers record elapsed time when the chronograph is running: the register at 11 tracks up to 30 minutes, and the one at 7 tracks up to 12 hours. Cimier’s manual says to start and stop timing with pusher A. Once the chronograph is stopped, pusher B resets it. Cimier 711 user manual
Using the tachymeter
The tachymeter estimates speed over a known distance. Start the chronograph as the measured interval begins and stop it when the distance is covered; the scale reading provides the speed estimate for that distance. It is a practical analog scale, not a claim of laboratory-grade measurement precision.
Using the telemeter
The telemeter estimates distance from the time between seeing an event and hearing its sound—for example, a flash and its thunder. Cimier’s manual specifies kilometers on the 711’s telemeter scale. Like the tachymeter, it is best understood as an instrument-style estimate rather than a precision measuring device.

Case size and wrist presence
The stainless-steel case measures 39.5 mm in diameter, 47 mm lug-to-lug, and 14.45 mm thick. Its barrel shape, brushed surfaces, polished bevels, pump-style pushers, and box-shaped sapphire crystal give it a substantial profile. The crystal has anti-reflective coating on its inside. Movement: a modified 7750 base
The automatic CIM 100 is based on the Valjoux 7750, with a bespoke module that places the chronograph counters at 7 and 11 o’clock. It is therefore not simply an unmodified 7750 with a different dial. Cimier states a 4 Hz frequency and a 48-hour power reserve. The exhibition caseback reveals a rotor engraved with an older Cimier logo.

Fratello reports that the movement has 25 jewels and supports manual winding and hacking, and describes its finishing as decorative. Those details are review-reported rather than specifications listed on Cimier’s product page. Fratello’s review

Cimier lists three standard configuration types: a calfskin leather strap with pin buckle, a steel mesh bracelet, and a steel bracelet. The listed options have quick-release spring bars. Fratello gives the strap width as 22 mm and notes that third-party straps of that width may fit; verify the lug width and spring-bar compatibility on the exact watch before ordering an aftermarket strap.

The steel bracelet has no quick-adjustment mechanism, according to Fratello, so sizing requires adding or removing links. That is less convenient for fine adjustment during the day than a clasp with on-the-fly adjustment.

The green 100th-anniversary edition is a distinct limited model, rather than merely another dial color. Cimier says it commemorates 100 years since Joseph Lapanouse’s first watchmaking atelier, limits the edition to 100 numbered pieces, and pairs the watch with a mesh bracelet plus an additional black calfskin strap. When checked on October 7, 2026, Cimier’s catalog listed the blue and panda 711 Heritage Chronographs at CHF 2,480 each and marked both low stock. The green anniversary edition was marked sold out.
