It pairs a green wave-pattern dial and bezel with a date-equipped Calibre 8800. OMEGA also makes a distinct green 42 mm titanium-and-Bronze-Gold version, introduced in 2024, with a date-less Calibre 8806. They share the collection name and color, but not the same materials or wearing character.
Which green Seamaster is this?
This review focuses on the established steel model, reference 210.30.42.20.10.001—the watch most people mean when they search for the “Omega Seaweed.” OMEGA identifies the reference as a 42 mm stainless-steel Diver 300M with Calibre 8800. The collection dates to 1993 and is known for its wave-patterned dial, skeletonized hands and helium escape valve at 10 o’clock. OMEGA’s collection overview describes those signature details.
The newer green model is not simply a material option for the same watch. The 2024 titanium and Bronze Gold Diver 300M is also 42 mm, but it has a different case and bezel treatment, an aluminium green dial and bezel, and Calibre 8806 without a date. OMEGA offers that version on mesh or an integrated green rubber strap. OMEGA’s 2024 announcement outlines the update, including the domed sapphire crystal and Bond-inspired mesh styling.
How the green dial and bezel look
Green makes the familiar Diver 300M design more conspicuous than a black dial, though the effect depends on the light. The wave pattern gives the dial visual texture instead of leaving a broad, flat field of color; reflections can make that texture more or less apparent as the wrist moves. The color is a stronger style choice than black, but the steel case and established dive-watch layout keep it from feeling like a novelty piece.

- Omega Seamaster Automatic Chronometer Black Dial Men's Watch 210.30.42.20.01.001
The skeletonized hands and hour markers preserve the watch’s familiar visual hierarchy against the patterned dial. In low light, the relevant question is whether the luminous elements remain easy to distinguish, not whether the green itself looks the same as it does in daylight. OMEGA’s product sheet identifies the reference and its movement, but does not establish a measured legibility comparison with the black Seamaster. If you want the most restrained, easily matched option, black is the safer choice; choose green if you want the color to be part of the watch’s identity.
How the 42 mm case wears
At 42 mm, this is a substantial sports watch, not a small diver that should be assumed to “wear smaller” than its measurement. Whether it works depends on the wearer’s wrist and on how the watch’s case, lugs and bracelet sit when tried on. The available product information confirms the diameter but does not give a comparable lug-to-lug or thickness figure here, so those dimensions should be checked against the physical watch rather than guessed.

- Omega Seamaster Automatic Black Dial Men's Watch 210.32.42.20.01.001
Pay particular attention to the crown and the helium escape valve at 10 o’clock. Their position and projection can matter more in daily comfort than the dial diameter alone, especially if the watch shifts on the wrist or catches against a cuff. Try the steel bracelet at the intended fit, then assess whether the case stays centered and whether the valve or crown presses uncomfortably as your wrist bends.
The steel model’s bracelet gives it a more traditional, substantial luxury-diver feel. The 2024 variant’s mesh bracelet has a different visual character, while its integrated rubber strap is the more overtly casual choice. A strap should be confirmed as compatible with the exact reference before purchase; green color alone does not establish fit.

What Calibre 8800 and 8806 change
The steel reference uses Calibre 8800 and includes a date display. The 2024 green titanium/Bronze-Gold model uses Co-Axial Master Chronometer Calibre 8806 and omits the date. That is the practical distinction to start with: choose the 8800 version if a date is useful; choose the 8806 version if you prefer the cleaner, date-less dial and the newer material configuration.
OMEGA describes the newer 8806 as a Co-Axial Master Chronometer certified by the Swiss Federal Institute of Metrology (METAS). Its display back offers a view of the movement, but that visual feature should not be mistaken for a personal accuracy test or a guarantee about an individual watch’s real-world timekeeping. The steel reference’s 8800 specification is established by OMEGA’s product document; do not assume that every green Diver 300M uses the same calibre. Product sheet for reference 210.30.42.20.10.001.

The steel Seaweed is the more straightforward pick if you want the familiar metal diver format, a date and a green variation on the standard Seamaster look. The titanium/Bronze-Gold watch is for someone drawn to its specific warm-metal contrast, lighter case material and choice of mesh or rubber. Neither the long-term patina behavior nor a like-for-like service or replacement-parts advantage is established by the cited product information; those points are worth confirming with OMEGA or an authorized service centre before they drive a buying decision.

A dive-watch rating is not a reason to neglect the seals. OMEGA’s manual recommends an annual water-resistance test at an authorised OMEGA service centre because gaskets age and an accidental shock can compromise sealing. It also advises rinsing the watch in fresh water after swimming in the sea, ensuring the crown is in its watertight position, and avoiding mechanical, thermal and other shocks. Is the green Seamaster worth it?
It makes sense if you want the Diver 300M’s recognizable design in a color with more presence than black, and you are comfortable with a 42 mm steel sports watch. The date-equipped 210.30.42.20.10.001 is the clearest choice for the classic steel-and-bracelet interpretation. The 2024 titanium/Bronze-Gold model is a different proposition: select it for its lighter case material, warmer accents, date-less layout and mesh-or-rubber options, not because it is merely another dial color.
There is no dependable current retail price for the exact steel reference established here, and price depends on the buyer’s market and date. Check the exact reference, local availability and seller before comparing offers; “green Seamaster” can refer to more than one materially different watch.
