The Vulcain Monopusher Heritage Panda is a manually wound chronograph with a 38.90 mm steel case, contrasting white-and-black dial, and one pusher that controls the chronograph. Its appeal is the combination of compact vintage-inspired proportions and a distinctly old-school control layout. Vulcain presents it as a reissue of its 1950s Chronograph Heritage; the historical details behind that connection are the brand’s account, rather than independently corroborated facts.
What the Monopusher Heritage Panda is
This is a mechanical chronograph: in addition to showing the time, it measures elapsed time with a central chronograph-seconds hand and a 30-minute counter at 3 o’clock. The small-seconds display for ordinary timekeeping sits at 9. Unlike a conventional chronograph with separate start/stop and reset pushers, this model uses one pusher at 2 o’clock to operate the chronograph sequence.
The watch is powered by the manually wound Sellita SW510 M MP b. Vulcain lists a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour (4 Hz) and a 58-hour power reserve for this model. Those are the brand’s stated specifications, not results from an independent test.
How the single pusher works
A monopusher combines the chronograph’s controls in a single button. Pressing the pusher advances the chronograph through its operating sequence—starting, stopping, and resetting the elapsed-time display—rather than assigning those functions to multiple buttons. The chronograph seconds hand is central, and the elapsed minutes are read on the 30-minute register at 3.

Always tighten the crown fully before contact with water, do not operate the chronograph pushers while the watch is wet or submerged, and avoid hot water, steam and diving. Water resistance should be checked periodically as seals age.
- COMPACT 39MM WRIST PROFILE: The WD1863 measures 39mm across the bezel, with a 41mm mid-case, 46mm lug-to-lug length, 12.9mm thickness including the raised crystal and 20mm lug width. These proportions balance the detail of a three-register chronograph with a wearable footprint. The 20mm bracelet remains proportionate to the case, while the raised crystal adds vintage depth to the compact design.
Lex Stolk’s January 26, 2026 Fratello hands-on review describes the pusher’s action as smooth and precise, with a crisp, firm feel. That is the reviewer’s wearing observation, not a laboratory assessment.
Dial and case: vintage cues in a compact size
Vulcain describes the dial as sunburst white with black counters—the high-contrast layout that gives the Panda name its familiar watch-world meaning. Fratello also notes Arabic numerals, a minute track, and a pulsometer scale. Together, those details give the dial a more instrument-like appearance than a minimalist two-register layout.

The 316L stainless-steel case measures 38.90 mm across and 13.00 mm thick. Vulcain specifies brushed case surfaces, polished horns, and a polished steel caseback. A double-domed sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating covers the dial. Fratello’s review characterizes the watch as unobtrusive on the wrist and broadly wearable; whether 13 mm feels slim or substantial will depend on the wearer and how the watch sits on their wrist.
Vulcain rates the watch at 5 ATM water resistance. That rating should not be treated as a blanket swimming recommendation: the product information does not specify particular water activities or conditions.

What the heritage story establishes
Vulcain frames the Monopusher Heritage collection as a reissue of its 1950s Chronograph Heritage. Fratello describes the current Panda as a smaller, 38.9 mm reinterpretation of the 42 mm Presidents’ Chronograph Heritage model from 2012. The present watch therefore draws on an older design story while arriving in a smaller case than that 2012 model.
Vulcain’s product page also recounts a connection with Real Madrid, including its claim that the brand became the club’s official timekeeper in 1934. In that account, coach Fernando Bru is quoted as saying: “We held our training sessions with an incredibly precise Vulcain chronograph and it was instrumental in our resounding victory in the 1934 Spanish Championship.” The quotation and historical narrative are presented by Vulcain and reproduced in Fratello’s coverage; the available sources do not independently verify the claim.
