The 2024 Oris Aquis Chronograph is smaller and slimmer than its predecessor, with a redesigned 3-6-9 dial and a new automatic calibre rated for 62 hours of power reserve. The trade-off is a lower stated water-resistance rating: 300 metres instead of 500 metres. These changes are documented for the blue-dial steel-bracelet reference 01 771 7793 4155-07 8 23 01PEB.
What changed on the revamped Oris Aquis Chronograph?
Oris revised the Aquis Chronograph for 2024 in several practical ways: the case is more compact, the dial uses a different subdial arrangement, and the movement and caseback have changed. The water-resistance specification also fell from the previous model’s 500 metres to 300 metres. The dimensions and predecessor comparisons below are reported by Denis Peshkov’s hands-on review for Monochrome Watches, published 17 September 2024; they are not measurements made for this article. Read the review.
| Feature | Revamped model | Previous version |
|---|---|---|
| Case diameter | 43.5 mm | 45.5 mm |
| Thickness | About 16.2 mm | 18.5 mm |
| Water resistance | 300 m (30 bar) | 500 m |
| Chronograph layout | 3-6-9 | 6-9-12 |
| Movement and reserve | Oris calibre 771-1; 62 hours | Calibre 774; 48 hours |
| Caseback | Screwed mineral-glass display back | Not stated in the Monochrome comparison |
| Bracelet | More tapered profile, according to Monochrome | Not stated in the Monochrome comparison |
How big is the revamped Aquis Chronograph?
Oris lists the case diameter as 43.50 mm. Monochrome reports a 51 mm lug-to-lug length and a thickness of about 16.2 mm. Against the review’s prior-model figures of 45.5 mm across and 18.5 mm thick, that is a meaningful reduction in both width and height, although the watch remains substantial. Lug-to-lug length can help when judging how a watch may span a wrist, but the available sources do not establish universal comfort or fit; wrist shape and personal preference matter.
The reference has a 23 mm interhorn width. Oris lists optional rubber straps, but the published information here does not establish that third-party straps will fit correctly. Check the attachment and end-link compatibility for the exact strap and reference before buying an alternative.

How is the dial laid out?
The revised dial switches from the former 6-9-12 arrangement to a 3-6-9 chronograph layout. On this blue-dial reference, the small-seconds subdial sits at 9, the 30-minute chronograph counter at 3, and the 12-hour counter shares the 6 o’clock position with the date. Oris describes its three sub-counters as giving the watch “its smile”; that is the manufacturer’s product language, not an independent assessment.
What movement does it use?
The current specification from Oris names calibre 771-1, an automatic movement with a red rotor, a frequency of 28,800 A/h (4 Hz), and a stated power reserve of 62 hours. Monochrome describes the 771-1 as based on Sellita’s SW510. For comparison, the review identifies the previous calibre 774 as based on Sellita’s SW500 and gives its reserve as 48 hours. The SW510 and SW500 descriptions are the review’s movement-base attributions; Oris’s product page lists the calibre and specifications rather than that base-movement comparison. Oris’s Swiss product page lists the current specification.

What does the 300-metre rating mean?
Oris specifies 30 bar water resistance, equivalent to a stated rating of 300 metres. That is a substantial product specification, but it is a reduction from the predecessor’s 500-metre rating. A depth rating should not be treated as a guarantee of suitability for every dive or water activity: the available sources do not provide dive-test results or establish a particular dive practice for this reference. Follow Oris’s current guidance for use and servicing rather than inferring a use case from the number alone.
What does it cost, and where is it listed?
Prices are regional, not universal. On 8 October 2026, Oris’s Swiss product page listed the reference at CHF 4,400, while its Netherlands page listed it at EUR 4,400 and displayed an add-to-cart option. These are observations from those specific market pages on that date; price, stock and local availability can change. No US price is established here.

The revision will be most relevant to someone who wants the Aquis Chronograph’s bold sports-watch design in a somewhat smaller, thinner case, and prefers the conventional 3-6-9 counter layout. The new calibre’s stated reserve is longer than the 48-hour figure Monochrome reports for the prior model. Someone who specifically values the former 500-metre specification should weigh the reduction to 300 metres carefully; someone seeking a compact chronograph should also consider the reported 51 mm lug-to-lug length, not diameter alone.

The published specifications and hands-on review do not establish independently measured timekeeping accuracy or fit across different wrists. They do give a clear picture of the main revision: reduced proportions, a reorganized dial, a longer stated reserve and lower water-resistance rating.
