The Huawei Watch GT 2 may suit someone who wants a conventional-looking smartwatch, built-in GPS and a long manufacturer-claimed battery life. But it is an older model, and whether it is worth buying now depends on the price and condition of the specific watch, compatibility with your phone, and whether you can live without a broad third-party app ecosystem. Huawei Watch GT 2: key specifications
Huawei’s Canadian specification page lists Bluetooth 5.1, GPS support and sensors including an accelerometer, gyroscope, geomagnetic sensor, optical heart-rate sensor, ambient-light sensor, air-pressure sensor and capacitive sensor. What is the difference between the 42 mm and 46 mm models?
The sizes differ in dimensions, screen, weight, battery claims and band width. The figures below are Huawei’s listed specifications; wrist fit and comfort remain personal.

How long does the Huawei Watch GT 2 battery last?
Huawei claims typical use of 7 days for the 42 mm model and 14 days for the 46 mm. These are manufacturer estimates, not a promise for every user or a used watch. Huawei’s stated assumptions include heart-rate monitoring on, 90 minutes of exercise per week and 30 minutes of music per week. Its separate continuous GPS exercise figures are up to 15 hours for the 42 mm series and 30 hours for the 46 mm series, with heart-rate and exercise-effect tracking included. Actual battery life can vary with use and the condition of an older device. If buying used, ask the seller about battery performance and check the return terms rather than assuming the original estimate still applies.

Will it work with your phone?
Huawei Support lists Android 6.0 or later and iOS 9.0 or later as minimum operating-system versions for compatibility. That baseline does not establish that every function behaves identically on Android and iOS, or in every region. Before buying, confirm that the Huawei Health app and the pairing process are available for your phone and region. Huawei’s compatibility and band information is on its Watch GT 2 support page.
What are the software limitations?
The GT 2 is a less flexible choice if you expect to install a selection of third-party watch apps. Wareable’s review describes the watch as having no app store and says extra features cannot be added through Huawei Health. That is an important trade-off for buyers comparing it with watches built around app stores; the review does not establish present-day compatibility or firmware behavior.

- Exact size: Confirm whether the listing is for 42 mm or 46 mm; screen, weight, battery claim and band width differ.
- Condition: For a used watch, inspect the case and screen and ask about battery performance.
- Returns: Read the seller’s return terms, especially if you cannot try the watch before purchase.
- Phone: Check your operating-system version and confirm regional access to Huawei Health and pairing support.
- Apps: Decide whether the limited app ecosystem fits what you expect from a smartwatch.
- Accessories: Match replacement bands to 20 mm for 42 mm or 22 mm for 46 mm. Verify explicit GT 2 compatibility for any charger or cradle.
Current retailer stock, asking prices, firmware status and official support-end date have not been established, so assess those on the specific listing rather than treating them as known product-wide facts.
