Hublot introduced it in its Big Bang tenth-anniversary year, with titanium and King Gold case options reported at Baselworld 2015. This is a review of the documented design and specifications, not a hands-on test: the available sources do not establish how it wears or how easily its dial reads in person.
What the Big Bang Chrono Perpetual Calendar does
The watch combines three functions: a chronograph for elapsed time, a perpetual calendar for calendar indications including leap year, and a moonphase display. The Fondation Haute Horlogerie identifies the self-winding movement as Hublot HUB 1270 and lists a 72-hour power reserve; Hodinkee also reported that reserve in its 2015 Baselworld coverage.
That combination defines the model’s appeal, but also its trade-off: calendar and chronograph information share several counters. The dial is not arranged as a simple time-only Big Bang with one added complication; it asks the wearer to distinguish multiple indications in a compact layout.
How to read the dial
Hodinkee’s 2015 description assigns calendar and chronograph indications to the same counters. The Fondation Haute Horlogerie likewise notes color coding between the two functions.

The published description identifies red chronograph hands and minute markings against white calendar hands. The dial uses a sapphire crystal to expose the openworked movement. Those details explain the visual separation strategy, but they do not establish legibility in different lighting or at a glance; a prospective buyer should assess the display in person.
Case, materials and fit
Hodinkee reported a 45 mm case and titanium and King Gold versions in 2015. The watch retains recognizable Big Bang design cues described in that coverage: a round bezel, substantial side structures and visible screws. The Fondation Haute Horlogerie lists a rubber strap and folding clasp.

At 45 mm, case diameter is a meaningful fit consideration, especially alongside a dense dial and the watch’s prominent case architecture. The written sources do not establish thickness, lug-to-lug measurement, weight, wrist comfort or comparative fit between the materials. Titanium is the lighter-material option by the historical report’s framing, but no measured weight comparison is provided here. Try the exact variant on wrist rather than treating diameter alone as a fit verdict.

Using the chronograph and correcting the calendar
Hublot’s instruction manual identifies the 2 o’clock pusher as the chronograph start/stop control and the 4 o’clock pusher as the reset control, which operates once the chronograph is stopped. Calendar corrections use the built-in case adjusters and the adjuster tool supplied with the watch.
The manual provides separate correctors for month/leap year, moonphase, day and date, along with a model-specific adjustment sequence and caution. Because calendar-correction procedures can depend on the reference and corrector layout, use the manual for the exact watch rather than applying a generic perpetual-calendar routine or improvising with another tool. Confirm the reference with Hublot or a qualified watchmaker if the manual is missing or the correctors are unclear.
