The 2026 Hublot Big Bang Original Unico Titanium Ceramic pairs a 43 mm titanium case with a black ceramic bezel and the HUB1280 flyback chronograph movement. Its specifications make it a clear proposition for someone drawn to Hublot’s two-material design and integrated chronograph mechanics. But this is a source-based review, not a hands-on test: published specifications do not establish how it wears, how legible it is in practice, or how it performs in timing or water tests.
Which Big Bang Unico is this?
This is the 2026 Big Bang Original Unico Titanium Ceramic, reference 431.NM.1370.RX. Hublot introduced it as one of four versions in the Big Bang Original Unico collection. It should not be confused with the titanium-only 431.NX.1370.RX, or with earlier 42 mm and 45 mm Big Bang Unico generations. The exact reference is listed by Watches of Switzerland; the collection context appears in Hublot’s 2026 launch announcement.
What are the case and dial like?
Titanium case, ceramic bezel
The distinction in the name matters: this is not an all-ceramic case. The 43 mm case and caseback are titanium, while the bezel is black ceramic, according to Hublot’s launch material and the collection overview from Monochrome Watches. The collection overview gives the case thickness as 13.2 mm. Hublot describes titanium in its related product-family copy as almost two times lighter than steel and identifies Grade 5 titanium on that related page; those are manufacturer descriptions, not a measured weight comparison for this exact reference. Its family page is for the titanium-only model, so it is useful for movement context rather than proof of an exact-reference test.
Hublot says its high-tech ceramic is sintered at 1,000 °C and is 300 Vickers harder than traditional ceramic. Those are manufacturer claims from the 2026 launch, not independent test results. The two materials create a contrast in the specification; without direct wear, there is no basis to claim how the case feels or how its finish holds up in daily use.

- BGW9 Blue Lume: BGW9 blue lume enhances readability in low-light conditions. Expose the watch to light before use for better luminous performance.
- No Battery Replacement: VS75B solar-powered quartz movement converts light into energy, eliminating the need for regular battery replacement.
- Lightweight Titanium 42mm Case: Full titanium case and case back keep the watch lightweight and comfortable for all-day wear.
- Sapphire Crystal: High-hardness sapphire crystal provides excellent scratch resistance. Four-layer blue AR coating reduces reflections and enhances transparency for clearer, easier-to-read visibility.
- 200M Water Resistance: 200M / 20 ATM water resistance with screw-down crown and screw-back case, ready for diving and water activities.
Dial layout and display
The dial has a stamped, chequered pattern intended to evoke carbon fibre. Monochrome’s collection overview places the running-seconds display at 9 o’clock, the 60-minute chronograph register at 3 o’clock and the date at 4:30. These positions describe the published layout, not a legibility assessment from use. Hublot’s related titanium-family page lists anti-reflective sapphire; Monochrome describes sapphire at the front and back for the collection. The precise caseback construction should therefore be treated as a secondary-source specification for this model rather than an independently confirmed detail.
What movement does it use?
The watch uses Hublot’s HUB1280 Unico, a self-winding flyback chronograph with a column wheel and an approximately 72-hour power reserve. Hublot’s current Big Bang Original Unico Titanium family page describes the HUB1280 family specifications; the exact reference listing and Monochrome’s collection overview also identify the movement and reserve.

Flyback is the practical distinction from a conventional chronograph reset sequence: while the chronograph is running, the flyback function allows the timing hands to be reset and restarted with a single action, rather than stopping, resetting and starting separately. The column wheel is part of the chronograph’s control architecture. These features explain what the movement is designed to do; no source reviewed establishes measured chronograph accuracy or operating impressions for this particular watch.
What do the published specifications say about daily use?
Water resistance is a rating, not a test report
Published water resistance is 100 metres / 10 ATM. That is a specification listed for the watch, not evidence of an independent water test or a guarantee of condition after wear, impact, or servicing. Anyone intending to use the chronograph around water should follow Hublot’s current care guidance and have the watch’s seals checked as appropriate.

Strap and clasp
The watch is specified with a structured black rubber strap and deployant buckle. Monochrome describes the One-Click interchangeable strap system for the model family. That indicates a designed quick-change arrangement, but the available sources do not establish how easy or secure a strap change feels in practice.

The Titanium Ceramic is the version to consider if the appeal is specifically a titanium case paired with a black ceramic bezel, rather than the all-titanium construction of 431.NX.1370.RX. Its 43 mm case, flyback chronograph, and roughly three-day stated reserve are the concrete reasons to compare it with other watches in the same category. Published information cannot settle more subjective buying questions—such as wrist comfort, dial readability in varied light, or whether the case proportions suit a particular wearer—without trying the exact watch in person.

Quick Recap

- WATCH MOVEMENT: The LIV P-51 is powered by a super-accurate 25 Jewel, ETA 7750 Swiss mechanical automatic movement with a 42-hour power reserve and 12-hour chronograph. It has been one of the most promising movements in Switzerland in the past 100 years.
- TITANIUM CONSTRUCTION: The P-51 is built with high-grade titanium for strength and comfort. It's twice the strength and half the weight of steel. Indeed, the primary advantage of a titanium watch is its ability to be tough and not heavy at the same time. A titanium watch won't crack regardless of the abuse it gets. Exposure to saltwater, irrespective of the salt density, will not erode it.
