Launch-era details are from Borna Bošnjak’s Time+Tide article published 22 January 2024, which disclosed that it was made in partnership with Hz Watches. Case size, weight and fit
Compact dimensions
The official page lists a 38.5 mm case diameter and a 46 mm lug-to-lug span. Diameter gives a quick sense of the case across the wrist; lug-to-lug is often more useful for estimating how far the watch reaches toward the edges of a smaller wrist. At 9.8 mm high, it is also relatively slim on paper, although perceived fit depends on wrist shape, strap and case design as well as measurements.
Titanium and the stated weight
Hz Watches specifies grade 5 titanium and a total weight of 45 g with the included leather strap and titanium buckle. That figure is not the case-only weight. Titanium’s low density helps keep a watch light, making this combination attractive to someone who dislikes a heavy watch during all-day wear.

Movement, legibility and everyday details
Quartz movement
The HZ.01 uses a Swiss Ronda 507 quartz movement. Hz Watches makes quartz enthusiasm part of its identity; on its official homepage, founder Matt Zillmann explains: “After years around watches, and countless days with the wrong time, day, and date – I found myself drawn to quartz.” That is the founder’s rationale for the brand’s focus, not an independent measurement of this model’s performance.
Crystal, lume and crown
The current product listing specifies a sapphire crystal with three anti-reflective coatings on its underside, Swiss Super-LumiNova BGW9 on the hands and numerals, and a signed screw-down titanium crown. The collection page says version 2 enlarged the date window by 0.5 mm, added the screw-down crown and added two Super-LumiNova coatings on the indices. Strap and included items
The watch has 20 mm lugs. The listed package includes one HZ.01, one genuine leather strap with quick-release spring bars, a genuine leather watch roll and a two-year manufacturer warranty. Quick-release bars can make strap changes simpler, but the supplied details do not establish fit for any particular third-party strap; check both its end fit and spring-bar mechanism before buying.
Water resistance and other launch-era figures
Time+Tide’s January 2024 launch article reports 100 metres water resistance, accuracy of -10/+20 seconds per month, and a 45-month power reserve. The current official product-page specifications reviewed here do not repeat those three claims. If water resistance or a particular service interval matters to your decision, confirm the current rating and battery guidance with Hz Watches rather than relying on the older launch report alone.

Time+Tide’s launch article listed preorder pricing of A$249 / US$170 and an RRP of A$349 / US$235. Those are historical launch figures, not current offers. Who should consider the HZ.01?
- Consider it if you want a light, compact quartz watch with a titanium case, sapphire crystal and an included leather strap.
- Check the fit first if you have a small wrist or prefer a larger watch; use the 46 mm lug-to-lug dimension alongside the 38.5 mm diameter.
