What is the Grand Seiko SLGA025 Atera Blue?
The SLGA025 is a named Evolution 9 Collection reference introduced in 2024. Grand Seiko connects its dial to Nagano, the home of the brand’s Spring Drive production, and describes the design as an evocation of a river valley’s swirling emerald water. The blue-green surface has a subtle water-inspired pattern, paired with faceted hands and hour markers. Grand Seiko’s GS9 Club article dates worldwide availability at Grand Seiko boutiques and select retailers to September 2024.

The case and bracelet are made of high-intensity titanium. Grand Seiko says this alloy is about 30 percent lighter than stainless steel; that is the manufacturer’s comparison, not an independently measured result. The case has Zaratsu mirror-polished and hairline-finished surfaces, creating contrast between reflective and brushed areas.

How accurate is the 9RA2 Spring Drive?
Grand Seiko rates the automatic Caliber 9RA2 at ±10 seconds per month, or approximately ±0.5 seconds per day. This is the maker’s stated specification, not a result from an independent test of an individual SLGA025. The movement combines automatic winding with Spring Drive timekeeping; the relevant buying point is the published accuracy rating rather than a claim that every watch will perform identically in every wearer’s conditions.
Grand Seiko specifies a five-day, or 120-hour, reserve from a full wind. The power-reserve indicator is on the movement side and can be seen through the sapphire caseback, rather than on the dial. The dial-side functions are hours, minutes, seconds and date.
SLGA025 price and availability
Grand Seiko listed a US launch price of $10,500 when it announced the watch for September 2024. That is the historical US launch price, not a universal or necessarily current price. At access, the Grand Seiko Boutique Thailand catalogue listed ฿366,000, while the Teddy Baldassarre US retailer page displayed $11,000. These are region- and source-specific listings, not directly interchangeable prices; taxes, stock, warranty terms and local pricing can differ. Check with a local boutique or authorized retailer for current availability and the terms attached to the specific watch.

For a European launch reference, Monochrome Watches reported €11,100 in its September 2, 2024 coverage. This is likewise a dated launch figure, not a current quote. The retailer page describes a five-year manufacturer warranty; confirm warranty coverage and seller authorization in your market before buying.
What distinguishes the Atera Blue?
The defining choice is the combination of an Atera Valley-inspired blue-green dial and the 9RA2 movement in a relatively compact-for-the-line 40 mm titanium case. The see-through back reveals the movement and its reserve indication, while the dial remains visually focused on the water-like pattern. Grand Seiko has also used 9RA2 and titanium construction in the earlier SLGA019, but the available information does not establish a broader current competitor ranking; compare specific watches on dimensions, materials, movement specifications, water resistance, warranty and local price.
