Rolex’s 2023 gold GMT-Master II release comprised two references: the Yellow Rolesor 126713GRNR, combining Oystersteel and yellow gold, and the 18 ct yellow-gold 126718GRNR. Both introduced a grey-and-black Cerachrom bezel insert to the model family. Their cases, movements and core travel functions are closely matched; the principal distinctions are the metal construction, dial choices and current US list prices.
What Rolex introduced in 2023
Rolex announced two new GMT-Master II versions in 2023, one in Yellow Rolesor and one in 18 ct yellow gold. The company described their grey-and-black ceramic bezel insert as an entirely new colour combination for the model. At Watches and Wonders 2023, Rolex also presented the all-gold release as the return of 18 ct yellow gold to the GMT-Master II family.
Yellow Rolesor is Rolex’s name for a combination of Oystersteel and yellow gold. Rolex says it has used Rolesor on its watches since the early 1930s and trademarked the name in 1933. The two 2023 watches share the new bezel treatment, but they are not simply the same configuration in different metals: their dial offerings differ.

How the GMT function works for travel
The GMT-Master II’s 24-hour hand indicates a reference time against the bezel graduations. For travel, the local hour hand can be adjusted independently in one-hour jumps, forward or backward, without stopping or changing the minute and seconds hands. That lets a wearer change local time while keeping the reference-time display intact.
