Parmigiani Fleurier relaunched its Toric collection on 9 April 2024 with two watches: the hand-wound Toric Petite Seconde and the more elaborate Toric Chronograph Rattrapante. One distils the line into a small-seconds dress watch; the other adds a high-frequency split-seconds chronograph. Their specifications and prices below describe the 2024 launch models, not current quotes or the full range now offered under the Toric name.
What is the 2024 Parmigiani Fleurier Toric collection?
Toric is a design line that dates to Parmigiani Fleurier’s beginning in 1996. Its 2024 return brought a new generation of watches, retaining the knurled bezel as a defining visual detail while pairing it with gold dials, precious-metal cases and finely finished alligator straps. The launch was framed around two contrasting expressions rather than a single complication or case material.

Parmigiani Fleurier CEO Guido Terreni described the collection as an effort to “redefine the essence of the men’s dress watch” with a more nuanced and versatile elegance. In practical terms, the launch models show that contrast through a restrained hand-wound watch and a technically demanding chronograph. The company’s 9 April 2024 announcement introduced both watches; the brand’s Watches and Wonders 2024 page highlights their materials and movement construction.

What defines the Toric Petite Seconde?
The Petite Seconde is the quieter of the two launches: a hand-wound watch with a small-seconds display, housed in a slim 40.6 mm by 8.8 mm case. Its PF780 calibre is made in 18-carat rose gold, beats at 4 Hz and provides a reported 60-hour power reserve. The case was offered in rose gold or platinum, with gold dial treatments. Parmigiani Fleurier described the movement components as all-gold in its 2024 novelties material.
The proportions and simple complication make this the more restrained interpretation of Toric. Its knurled bezel and precious-metal construction give it visual texture without the chronograph’s additional pushers, thicker case or more elaborate dial-side display. Launch coverage reported water resistance of 50 metres; that rating is a specification, not an indication that the watch is intended for swimming or diving.
What makes the Chronograph Rattrapante more complex?
A rattrapante, or split-seconds chronograph, can time two events that start together but finish separately. The launch Toric uses a 5 Hz PF361 calibre with a double column wheel and skeletonized structure. In Parmigiani Fleurier’s 2024 description, the movement is crafted in 18-carat rose gold; launch coverage lists 285 components, 35 jewels and a 65-hour power reserve.
The added mechanism comes with a larger, substantially thicker case: 42.5 mm across and 14.4 mm thick. The 2024 launch version was in rose gold, rated to 50 metres, and limited to 30 pieces. Its reported CHF 135,000 suggested retail price reflects the launch-era figure only, not a current valuation or availability claim.

How did the 2024 design reinterpret Toric?
The collection’s recognizable knurled bezel links the new watches to the line’s earlier design language. The 2024 versions combine that detail with warm gold dials and cases in rose gold or platinum for the Petite Seconde, and rose gold for the Rattrapante. Nubuck-finished alligator straps add a tactile contrast to the polished precious metal. Together, these elements make the launch feel like a dress-watch collection, even where the chronograph’s technical architecture is the focal point.
The 2024 retailer catalogue traces Toric to the brand’s founding in 1996 and presents the knurled bezel as a design feature carried through its evolution. That continuity is more useful than treating the 2024 pieces as a simple revival: the launch retained an identifying motif while introducing new movement and complication choices.
Are these still the only watches in the Toric collection?
No. The 2024 launch comprised the Petite Seconde and Chronograph Rattrapante, but Parmigiani Fleurier’s current Toric collection page also includes later expressions, including a Quantième Perpétuel. The current page should be used for the present range; the dimensions, movement details and launch prices in this article refer specifically to the 2024 models.
