Breguet’s Type XX Chronographe 2075, announced on June 4, 2025, brings the aviation-watch line into a 38.3 mm 18K Breguet gold case with a manually wound flyback chronograph. It comes in two dial configurations: a black anodised-aluminium version with a 15-minute counter, and a silver-dial version with a 30-minute counter, limited to 250 pieces. Breguet presents the design as an homage to its civilian 1955 Type XX—not simply a reissue of a military watch.
What are the two Breguet Type XX 2075 versions?
The choice affects more than dial color: each version has its own movement calibre and chronograph minute-counter range.

Both dials have small seconds at 9 o’clock. Breguet identifies the silver-dial reference as the limited edition; the 250-piece limit does not apply to both watches.
How big is the Type XX Chronographe 2075?
Breguet’s current official specifications list a 38.3 mm case diameter, 13.2 mm thickness and 19 mm lug width. The round case is made from 18K Breguet gold, the Maison’s gold alloy. Water resistance is listed as 5 BAR. That rating is a specification, not a particular swimming or diving recommendation.

The watch is fitted with a calfskin strap and an 18K Breguet gold buckle. The 19 mm lug width identifies the strap width category, but does not by itself establish fit or buckle compatibility for any particular replacement strap.
Is the Type XX 2075 hand-wound, and what movement does it use?
Yes. Both references use manually wound movements from the 728 family: calibre 7279 in the black-dial watch and calibre 7278 in the silver-dial watch. Breguet describes these as the first manually wound versions of calibre 728, gilded in Breguet gold.

The official specification lists a 5 Hz frequency and a 60-hour power reserve for the movements. It also lists a flat silicon balance spring for calibre 7278. Both watches have a flyback chronograph. Breguet says a press of the pusher at 4 o’clock resets and immediately restarts the chronograph, avoiding the separate stop, reset and restart sequence of a conventional chronograph.
What is the aviation history behind the 2075?
Breguet traces the 2075’s inspiration to its civilian gold Type XX, reference 1780, presented in 1955. That distinction matters: the broader Type 20/Type XX story also includes military aviation watches. In the early 1950s, the French Air Force sought a chronograph wristwatch for pilots, and Breguet supplied military watches as well as civilian variants. The 2075 takes its cue specifically from the civilian 1955 watch.

The launch also connects the watch to aircraft maker Louis Breguet and the aviators Dieudonné Costes and Maurice Bellonte. According to Breguet, they flew a Breguet 19TR Super Bidon from Paris to New York from September 1 to 2, 1930, completing the flight in just over 37 hours. The aircraft carried a question mark on each side of its fuselage.
A sapphire window shows a hand-crafted engraving of the Breguet 19 and its transatlantic route. Breguet says the engraving is made in the Maison’s workshops.
