That distinctive layout is the watch’s main appeal—and the first thing a prospective buyer should decide they can read comfortably. Published specifications list a 45 mm steel case and an automatic movement; prices and some details vary by regional listing, so check the selected variant and market before buying.
How the Time Cipher tells time
CIGA Design describes the display as “A rotating hour disc travels with the minute arm in quiet alignment.” The hour disc moves around the dial with the minute arm; read the hour shown on the disc where it meets the fixed hour marker, then use the arm’s position against the minute indices to read the minutes. It is a wandering-hour arrangement, not a conventional pair of central hour and minute hands. The description is the manufacturer’s, rather than an independent assessment of legibility.
In practical terms, the design asks the wearer to track a moving hour indication instead of finding a fixed hour hand. If you often glance quickly at a watch, consider whether that extra visual step feels intuitive to you. The available sources do not include a standardized legibility test or comparative test against conventional watches.
Design and published specifications
Case, crystal and strap
CIGA Design’s English regional listing specifies a 45.0 mm case diameter, 11.8 mm thickness, 316L stainless steel, sapphire crystal and 5 ATM water resistance. It lists a black fluororubber strap tapering from 22.0 mm at the case to 20.0 mm at the other end, with a hidden clasp. Fratello’s January 2026 launch coverage also gives a 45 mm diameter and 11.8 mm thickness, and describes a domed sapphire crystal, sapphire display caseback and stainless-steel butterfly clasp. These descriptions are not identical; check the particular regional product listing for the caseback, crystal and clasp details.

- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
A 45 mm case is a substantial diameter for a watch, but diameter alone does not determine how it sits on a wrist. If fit is a concern, compare the listed dimensions with a watch you already wear and check whether the retailer provides lug-to-lug dimensions; those are not stated in the cited specifications.
Dial and visibility features
The brand calls the dial “Super Black” and claims it absorbs 99.4% of light. That figure is a manufacturer claim; no independent measurement is established here. The English product page also lists raised, CNC-engraved minute indices, a rotating hour disc, Swiss Super-LumiNova and a fixed hour marker. These elements describe the intended layout, but they do not by themselves establish how easily the display can be read in every lighting condition.

Movement
The official English page identifies the movement as Caliber CD-08, based on the Miyota 9000 series. It lists automatic winding, 28,800 vibrations per hour, 24 jewels, a 42-hour power reserve and an accuracy range of -10 to +20 seconds per day. Fratello’s launch coverage identifies the base as the Miyota 9015 and reports automatic winding, 28,800 vph, 24 jewels and a 42-hour reserve. Treat the 9015 identification as Fratello’s specification, not as wording that appears consistently across the official listings.
There is also regional variation in the published data: a retrieved official Arabic listing gives an accuracy range of -10 to +30 seconds per day, rather than the English page’s -10 to +20 seconds per day. These are stated specifications, not independent accuracy-test results. Verify the live specification for the region and variant you intend to order.

Price, options and purchase terms
The price is market- and time-dependent. Fratello reported a US$899 launch price for the two models in its January 27, 2026 coverage. At the time of the cited regional listings, CIGA Design’s English page displayed $1,089, while its Arabic page displayed $899. Those observations do not establish a universal current price; check the price shown after selecting your market and variant.
The official listing describes Carbon and Silver case-color options. It says the package includes the watch, one fluororubber strap and a warranty card. The English listing’s strap width is 22.0 mm at the case and 20.0 mm at the other end, but generic replacement-strap or clasp compatibility is not established by the listed dimensions alone.

CIGA Design’s official page says returns are accepted within 15 days of receipt. For returns not caused by a quality problem, it says the customer bears freight, customs duties and other return costs. Fratello reported a two-year warranty at launch; the retrieved current official page content does not establish whether that duration applies in every market today. Confirm local warranty and return terms before ordering.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. Is the Time Cipher a good fit for you?
The strongest reason to choose the Time Cipher is also its key compromise: the wandering-hour display gives it a distinctive character, but it departs from the familiar glance-reading of two central hands. Its 45 mm diameter, automatic movement and stated 5 ATM water resistance are useful comparison points, while regional differences and the gap between launch reporting and current listings make checking the exact offer important.

A brief note on wandering hours
The complication predates the Time Cipher. Fratello’s launch story traces wandering hours to a night clock made by the Campani brothers for Pope Alexander VII in 1656. CIGA Design is using an established display concept, rather than originating it.
